Film THE NEW MUTANTS Has Connections with DEADPOOL and X-Men Universe

The released film synopsis is also quite detailed and slightly longer than the usual film synopsis, especially for unreleased films. The synopsis mostly explains the spin-off with a horror setting directed by Josh Boone. It confirms that the character Magik is the sister of the character Colossus, which connects this film's storyline with the storyline of the DEADPOOL movie. "Terrifying, action-packed film adaptation of the Marvel comic series, five young individuals with special abilities are brought to a secret institution to receive treatment that supposedly can cure the dangers posed by their powers. There's Danielle Moonstar a.k.a Mirage (Blu Hunt), who can create illusions based on someone's fears; Rahne Sinclair a.k.a Wolfsbane (Maisie Williams), who can transform into a werewolf; Sam Guthria a.k.a Cannonball (Charlie Heaton), who can fly at jet speed protected by a force field; Roberto da Costa a.k.a Sunspot (Henry Zaga), who can absorb and channel sunlight; and Illyana Rasputin a.k.a Magik (Anya Taylor-Joy), the sister of Colossus, Magik can wear iron armor as she pleases and wield a soul sword that enhances her abilities. Invited by Dr. Cecilia Reyes (Alice Braga) to tell their stories of when they first discovered their powers, the five 'patients' begin to understand that they belong to a class of people called mutants, who have been historically marginalized and feared." While they bring their stories back to life, their memories seem to turn into terrifying realities. At that moment, they questioned what is real and what is not, and it becomes clear that the place they are in is not what it seems. Now, the question is why are they being treated like prisoners? And who is trying to destroy them? The tension and horror instantly increase in the film directed by Josh Boone and written by Boone and Knate Lee."

Reported by Movieweb, with the confirmation that the character Magik is the sister of Colossus, it can be said that the film THE NEW MUTANTS has a connected storyline with the film DEADPOOL. Colossus himself appeared in the film X2 played by Daniel Cudmore, who later appeared in the film DEADPOOL and DEADPOOL 2 played by Stefan Kapicic.
