Review of THE OLD GUARD: Charlize Theron Portrays an Epic Superheroine Action

However, in those films, no one could have predicted the violence she brings in THE OLD GUARD. Gina, in this film, highlights the role of women, with Charlize Theron as the main superhero. Charlize Theron has shown her talent for bringing depth to her characters, as seen in her portrayal of Furiosa in MAD MAX: FURY ROAD.

In this film, the actor reveals that Copley (Chiwetel Ejiofor) convinces Andy to take a year off to heal from emotional wounds before returning to battle again. Copley is a former CIA agent who provides information to Andy about 17 children who have been kidnapped in South Sudan. Even in the repeated fight scenes, viewers can see for themselves how Andy can grow with these powers.

Perhaps adrenaline-fueled action film fans will be surprised by the melancholic way Prince-Bythewood presents her film, reflected in the cinematography of Tami Reiker and Barry Ackroyd, and the music references that move from tension to introspective beauty in “Godspeed” by Frank Ocean. The remarkable note on the film disappears in the climax where it focuses more on setting up a sequel rather than character development. But until then, THE OLD GUARD finds unexpected strength in the silence within it.
