BTS Announces Hiatus, Focus on Individual Projects

As reported on Instagram @cnet, on Tuesday (14/6) fans from all over the world were surprised when the seven BTS members announced that they will stop making music together to pursue solo careers.

The BTS members made the announcement simultaneously in a video for their annual BTS Festa event, which celebrates their debut anniversary. It is known that this is the first hiatus moment for the boyband that has been releasing music since 2013.

In the video, BTS members stated that they want to take time to mature as individuals before promising fans that they will reunite someday.

BTS announced this during their annual BTS Festa event, which was broadcast on the BANGTANTV YouTube channel on Tuesday (14/6) night. During the event, they had dinner and talked about memories during their nine-year career journey as a group, as well as their future plans.

RM stated that even though they have achieved a lot during their nine years, each individual still needs time to develop into a wiser person.

"The problem with K-pop and the idol system is that they don't give us time to grow up. We always have to make music and always do something," said RM.

That's why RM wants to take a break for a while and think about their next steps, both as individuals and as a group.
