On Thursday (28/5), Star News reported that Lee Dong Gun has been cast in a new film titled COME BACK HOME (temporary title). As reported by Soompi, the film tells the story of a man who is searching for his kidnapped child. The character is described as someone who becomes the head of the household at a young age.

In early 2020, the same media reported that Kim Young Kwang was cast as a man searching for his child. However, this news was not confirmed by his agency. Star News on May 28 also stated that Lee Dong Gun and Kim Young Kwang will play two characters facing each other in the film.
On the same day, FNC Entertainment told MyDaily, "Lee Dong Gun has received an offer for the film COME BACK HOME and is discussing it."
They clarified, "We have not reached a stage where we can say whether Lee Dong Gun will act in the film or not."
If Lee Dong Gun takes on this role, it will be his first film to be released in theaters since the 2007 film LOVE NOW. Lee Dong Gun has previously filmed a Korean-Chinese film titled ENCOUNTER in 2015 with Jiyeon T-Ara, but it was not released in theaters.
COME BACK HOME is directed by Kim Tae Yong, the person behind the films SET ME FREE and MISBEHAVIOR. The film is scheduled to start shooting this summer.
News of Lee Dong Gun considering this role emerged on the same day as the announcement of his divorce after three years of marriage with Jo Yoon Hee.
