Making a Comeback with 'INVU', TAEYEON Tops 2 Categories in Gaon

At the INVU album press conference held on Monday (14/2), Taeyeon Girls Generation explained that the songs 'INVU' and 'Can't Control Myself' have a connection.

"These two songs are about love. As mentioned, 'Can't Control Myself' depicts a sad portrayal of love struggle even after being hurt. On the other hand, 'INVU' contains heavier emotions and tells the story of 'freeing oneself from pain and reflecting on emotions'. It holds more mature emotions in seeing love from afar," said Taeyeon.

3. Hurt Because of Love

Furthermore, Taeyeon Girls Generation also explained the concept for the 'INVU' MV. She admitted to portraying a main character who remains strong and calm despite being hurt by love.

"The main character of 'INVU' is someone who is hurt by love but still gives everything
when faced with love, and I want to express this through visually strong (metaphorically depicting the attitude of preparing to face pain) battle scenes in the music video," explained Taeyeon.

"I thought of a brave and calm character, who is hurt but acts cool and strong," she added.

4. Greek Mythology

For this 'INVU' MV, Taeyeon Girls Generation used a strong concept and visuals from Greek mythology. From the background to the clothes she wears.

"This is a new image and visual that I have never tried before, like hairstyles and clothes in various mystical sets that remind viewers of Greek mythology such as ancient temples, deserts, and pools with moon reflections. I worked hard on the music video, so I hope you enjoy it!" she concluded.

5. Participating in Writing the Lyrics of 'Can't Control Myself'

Because she imagined the painful feelings of someone due to their love, Taeyeon was inspired by a story. This story is what Taeyeon poured into the lyrics of 'Can't Control Myself'.

"From this concept, I imagined more images in my mind and developed a story that led me to participate in writing the lyrics," she explained.
