Multinational K-Pop Girl Group Secret Number Officially Debuts, Dita: It's Apparently a Big Deal in Indonesia

Kapanlagi.com - The new K-Pop girl group Secret Number has finally made their official debut on May 19, 2020 after being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Secret Number is a five-member girl group under Vine Entertainment.

Denise and Jinny are from the United States, Léa is from Japan, Soodam is from South Korea, and Dita is from Indonesia. During Secret Number's debut showcase, Léa stated that they are the only K-Pop group that represents various countries.

Dita, who is the first Indonesian to debut in a K-Pop girl group, said, "It's a bit embarrassing to say it myself, but I heard from acquaintances that [this debut] is a big deal in Indonesia."

The title track of Secret Number's debut, Who Dis?, is an urban hip hop dance song produced by American producer Melanie Fontana and Michel 'Lindgren' Schulz, as well as Korean producer Shark. These two producers from Uncle Sam's Land have previously worked with top artists such as Justin Bieber, The Chainsmokers, and BTS.

"It is an honor to work with them even though we are just debuting. Since we can communicate in English, there is no problem with the production process. When working together, we realized that we have similarities and became close. Yesterday, we sent them a message. We told them that we were nervous about our debut showcase and they replied with a long message of support. We were surprised and grateful," said Secret Number as quoted from Soompi.

2. Meaning behind the Name

In addition, Secret Number also explains the meaning behind their group name.

"Everyone has a 'secret number' [password/PIN code] which is usually a birthday, anniversary, or other special number. We want to hold such special meaning to the public. Our logo is designed like a password box with five stars, representing the five of us," they said.

3. Role Model and Goals

This multinational group apparently chose A Pink as their role model. They also added that their current goal is to win the 'Rookie of the Year' award.

"We respect them for continuing to promote together even after nine years in the industry. We want to be a group that lasts for a long time like them," they concluded.
