Ade Govinda Reveals the Process Behind His Creations, Heartbreak Songs Only for Other Singers

"Professionally, maybe 16 years," said Ade when asked about his career journey as a musician during an encounter in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Thursday (6/2/2025).

During that time, Ade revealed that he has his own method for determining songs for both Govinda and other singers. Songs with themes of heartbreak or ballads are usually not given to Govinda, but channeled to other artists who are considered more suitable.

1. Don't Want Heartbreak Songs

"If that's the case, it's difficult; the important thing is that Govinda already has its formula. They don't want heartbreak songs, so ballads and heartbreak songs will definitely be given to other singers or I will produce them for others. That's just how Govinda is. We have an agreement," he explained.

This working method has apparently become a mutual agreement within the band. It helps Ade to separate Govinda's musical identity from other works he produces. This way, each project can develop according to the desired character.

Ade also revealed that the songs he creates are generally finished before being offered to a specific singer. For Ade, every lyric and melody he creates comes from his personal experiences.

2. The Process of Finding Singers

"There has already been one. So the song is always there first because all my songs tell about me, so it's really the singer who follows along, actually," Ade revealed.

However, the process of finding the right singer for each song also poses its own challenges. Ade usually chooses the artist he considers can convey the essence of the song well.

"Yes, that's correct. So, for example, if I have this song, let's say for Lyodra, it will be in her style. So, I almost never create songs that are requested," said Ade.

3. Proven Successful

Ade's choice not to accept song requests from certain singers stems from his principles in music. He wants each of his works to be born naturally, without pressure to conform to the demands of others.

In the dynamic music industry, Ade's decision to remain true to his distinctive style and formula has proven successful. Several of his songs, sung by other artists, have become hits, proving that honest music from the heart can be widely accepted by listeners.

Moreover, Ade believes that conveying personal stories through music has the power to create emotional bonds with listeners. This is the main reason why he chooses to pour his personal experiences into every song he creates.
