Balkonjazz Festival 2022 Now Paid, Bakkar Wibowo Explains

Kapanlagi.com - After its success in 2019, Balkonjazz Festival will be held again on May 14, 2022. Held at Gasblock Balkondes PGN Karangrejo, Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java, Balkonjazz Festival 2022 will feature top musicians from Indonesia.

At the second event, Balkonjazz Festival will feature several popular national artists, including Kahitna, Pamungkas, Rendy Pandugo, Adhitia Sofyan, Dere, Juicy Luicy, Raissa Anggaini, Coldiac, & Megantoro.

Unlike the 2019 event, this time Balkonjazz Festival no longer offers free admission tickets. When met at a press conference at Gasblock Balkondes PGN Karangrejo, Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java, on Friday (5/13), Bakkar Wibowo, founder of Balkonjazz Festival and promoter of Sinergi Live, explained the reason.

"Initially, the concept of Balkonjazz 2022 was free like in 2019. But after discussing with the local Covid task force, to minimize unwanted things, it was suggested that the ticket price be set," Bakkar Wibowo explained.

"But if there are local residents who enter from the other side of the stage, it's okay. Because the place is open like this. It's like watching MotoGP in Mandalika," he continued.

1. 1500 Tickets Sold Out

Around 1500 tickets have been sold out. The tickets were sold at prices ranging from 150,000 rupiah to 700,000 rupiah. "The tickets are sold out, but there are still people asking," said Bakkar.

Although not free, the Balkonjazz Festival 2022 still has a mission and vision to improve the local economy. The presence of the Balkon market is one way to advance the local economy.

"The Balkon market still exists. We prepare it for the local residents and it's free if they want to sell their products. Later, there will also be motorcycle taxis from the front to the Balkonjazz location at a price of 10,000 rupiah," he explained.

Bakkar also feels that the involvement and participation of local residents is a top priority.

"This means that the happiness gained from the festival visitors and audience is also integrated with the happiness gained by the local community," said Bakkar.
