Basboi Collaborates with The Adams Through Single "It's Me"

Kapanlagi.com - Hip-hop singer Basboi has released a new single titled "It's Me." In this song, he collaborates with the band The Adams. The song is produced by Ario Hendarwan from The Adams and Panji Wisnu, and it will be officially released on September 13, 2024, through various digital streaming platforms.

This collaboration began from Basboi's strong impression of The Adams' musical style, which he felt matched the vibe of the song "It's Me." When listening to the demo of the song, Basboi felt that it closely resembled The Adams' musical style.

"After listening to it several times, I felt, ‘Doesn’t this sound like a The Adams song?'. Personally, from the draft I brought, the rhythm notation and lyrics were exactly like that," said Basboi in Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (9/11/2024).

"When we recorded it again, it wasn't about adjustments but more about getting the right take, it was more technical," he added.

This offer was welcomed positively by The Adams, who felt comfortable with the creative process alongside Basboi. Ario, the vocalist of The Adams, mentioned that they were open with each other regarding musical ideas and freely expressed their creativity during the recording process.

"Maybe in some vocal parts he (Basboi) wants a bit of harmony, can it still fit in, yeah it can, it’s just like that, it’s a collaboration," said Ario.

Ario also revealed that The Adams and Basboi were given freedom in the process of working on the single. This, Ario continued, made the creative process in the studio much easier.

"I’m not thinking about the label, what I’m thinking about is the collaboration," concluded Ario.

The music video for this single, directed by Reinhart Giovanni, will be released simultaneously with the song's release. This project not only showcases a unique combination of hip-hop and indie rock but also marks a new step in the careers of Basboi and The Adams, two big names in the Indonesian independent music scene.
