Bernadya Brings the Visual Concept of the 2000s Through a Photoshoot in Kamakura

Kapanlagi.com - Bernadya not only pays attention to the music material in her second album, Semoga Hanya di Mimpi, but also to the accompanying visual concept. To achieve the desired atmosphere, she chose Kamakura, Japan, as the album's photoshoot location.

According to Bernadya, the choice of Kamakura is not to highlight Japanese identity, but rather because the color characteristics of the place are considered suitable for the visual concept she wants to present.

"Overall, the visuals... Actually, our plan is not to chase the Japanese vibe too much. But there are some colors that are only found in Japan. Like the green in Japan is different, the blue in Japan is different," said Bernadya when met at Citos, Friday (26/6/2026).

1. Visual Nuance of the 2000s

Bernadya explained that the main focus of the creative team is to present a visual nuance that is identical to the early 2000s. Therefore, they deliberately avoided a typical Japanese impression so that the audience's attention remains directed towards the nostalgic atmosphere they want to build.

"We just don’t want people to actually feel like it’s Japan. It’s just that our aim is the colors of the 2000s. But for some reason, those colors can be found there," she revealed.

This concept is also in line with the music references that Bernadya listened to during the album's creation process. She wants the entire work, both audio and visual, to have a common thread that brings listeners back to the musical atmosphere of the 2000s.

2. Concepts Translated Well

Bernadya is grateful that the concept she envisioned was successfully translated well. According to her, the response linking her album's visuals with the early millennium nuance is a sign that the creative target has been achieved.

"Oh really? That means it worked then. And it’s like, 'Oh, it would be fun if we started from here, so the common thread is the 2000s.' Then okay, let’s start working on the 2000s," she asserted.
