Celebrate 30 Years of Indonesian Hip Hop Music, FLAVS Successfully Completes the Unity Spirit of Fans!

Kapanlagi.com - FLAVS music festival presented by Visicita Network will take place on October 14 and 15, 2023 at Gambir Expo Kemayoran. This year's event is even more special as it coincides with the celebration of 30 years of hip hop in Indonesia, which can be witnessed by visitors at the entrance.

Visitors are invited to pass through a corridor filled with notes of the journey of Indonesian hip hop musicians from the 80s until today. Yacko, the Program Director of FLAVS, said that there are various styles and diverse characters that adorn hip hop throughout the archipelago over the past 3 decades.

"It's time for all of us to unite our differences through this celebration. Hopefully, the hip hop ecosystem in Indonesia will continue to grow," said Yacko.

With the theme of Unity, FLAVS presents a series of performers who show the same spirit to fill the Boombox Stage, Rhyme & Grind Stage, Bounce Stage, and Downtown Cypher Stage alternately, and often collaborate as a form of unity.

Collaboration was formed since Jakarta Tenggelam featuring BAP, Basboi, ENVY*, Dzulfahmi, Tacbo, Kink, Yosev, and Rai Anvio opening the Boombox Stage. This stage also presents Soul ID, Punokawan, Hip Hop Reggae Connection (Coconut Treez X Iwa K, Emil Gangstarasta X Mario Zwinkle, Conrad Good Vibration X Tuan Tigabelas), and Lil Pump.

Punokawan consists of Mario Zwinkle, Matter Mos, Sonjah, and Tuan Tigabelas guided by DJ Indra Domdom making their debut stage at FLAVS to perform their debut single 'Champions'. Manutized also performed on stage singing their single 'Indo' which was recently announced as one of the Best Rap/Hip Hop Duo/Group/Collaboration categories at the AMI Awards 2023.

American rapper Gazzy Fabio Garcia, also known as Lil Pump, was the only international performer on the first day of FLAVS. He appeared attractively wearing a pink beanie hat and continuously invited the audience to dance. Especially when he performed 'Gucci Gang' from his debut album. The rapper closed the Boombox Stage with an impressive performance.

2. Much More Festive Than Last Year

Originally, FLAVS was scheduled to take place this year in July at Eco Park Ancol. M. Riza, the Festival Director of FLAVS, revealed that the atmosphere at the alternative venue was actually able to accommodate the goals of the event.

"This year's atmosphere is definitely much more festive compared to last year because in terms of location, expanding the area, there are many things we can do. The festival is a festivity, music is one of it. I want people to come here, not only for the music," Riza expressed.

Endah N Rhesa, who had the opportunity to open the Rhyme & Grind Stage, did not waste the chance to perform some songs that they rarely perform. In addition, this stage presented a Tribute to Iwa K, Kunto Aji, ST.Loco, and Mukarakat.

3. Not Just a Music Festival

Not just a music performance, FLAVS provides a Cinema Room, which on the first day shows a total of 10 films. Three exclusive films are shown, including 'TUAN TIGABELAS - HARIMAU SOEMATRA' Tour by WestWew, 'PARKOUR DAN KINERJA MOTORIK ANAK' by Ramdani Murtadho, and 'WEWCLASS' by WestWew.

FLAVS second day will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023.
