Inspired by the character Buzz Lightyear in 'TOY STORY', Andrea Tanzil Releases Second Single Titled 'Infinity & Beyond'

Kapanlagi.com - Soloist Andrea Tanzil, also known as Andy, has released her latest work. This time, the artist, whose real name is Andrea Zaharani, released her second single titled Infinity & Beyond. Interestingly, the idea for this single was inspired by the character Buzz Lightyear in the film TOY STORY.

It all started with her nickname being often compared to the character Andy in Toy Story. The woman, born in Bekasi on July 3, 2003, immediately had a concept for her single. Buzz Lightyear is one of Andy's favorite toys in the movie TOY STORY.

"Because my nickname is 'Andy', people always ask me 'Andy from TOY STORY?'. From there, I got the idea to create a song with the concept of TOY STORY. Coincidentally, there is my favorite character, Buzz Lightyear, whose motto is 'To Infinity and Beyond'," Andrea explained to journalists recently.

"I poured this into a song that describes my feelings when I like someone, like Andy who likes Buzz Lightyear. In essence, it's about telling the person we love that we need them and want to experience happiness with them," Andrea continued at length.

1. Have Had an Idea for a Long Time

The idea for this song actually came during the recording process of his first single, Uneasy. Apparently, the idea was well received by Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia (SMEI) and Kamga, who helped write the song.

"So, during the production of Uneasy in the studio at that time, I talked to Mas Edu (Sony Music's A&R team) about the concept for my second single. Kamga heard this idea and immediately liked it, volunteering to create the song. He even made the first draft right away. Honestly, I felt very helped because initially, I had no idea what the song would be like. But after hearing the first draft, I immediately had an image," explained Andrea.

In the production of Infinity & Beyond, Andrea was also given the opportunity to be a co-writer. He felt grateful and lucky to be able to collaborate with Kamga. He admitted to learning a lot about songwriting from Kamga.

"Perhaps the challenge lies in writing and adjusting the lyrics to make them more interesting or catchy, changing parts with too many words to make them easier to listen to, and adapting the song to make it more feminine. In addition, the entire process of writing and recording went smoothly. I also learned a lot from Kamga about creating alternative bridges, choruses, and verses when writing a song. Because what we feel doesn't fit in one part, turns out it can be used in another part," shared Andrea.

2. Keep Learning

Andrea's first single, Uneasy, successfully earned her a nomination for the Best Solo R&B/Soul Artist category at the AMI Awards. From her debut song, this lover of Jazz Bossanova music learned to express her opinions during the music production process and to stand by her beliefs.

"Because I am the one singing, I know how I want the song to be. In one song, there is my vision as the singer, the creator's vision, and Sony Music's vision. I learned to compromise and align opinions so that the song I perform becomes better and everyone involved is satisfied with the end result," she said.

3. Expectations for the Second Single

Andrea hopes that Infinity & Beyond will become one of the catchy and happy songs that captures attention, receives positive feedback, and allows listeners to experience the happiness she brings through this song.

"Currently, sad songs are being widely listened to, in my opinion. I want happy songs to have the same chance and capture the same amount of attention as sad songs. Therefore, I am releasing Infinity & Beyond so that the happiness I present in this song can spread to many people. This song does not have a heavy message because it is a light song that tells how it feels when Andrea falls in love,” she concluded.

Andrea Tanzil's second single, Infinity & Beyond, can be heard on digital music platforms starting from October 6, 2023.
