Debut as a Solo Singer, Ifan Seventeen Has No Intention of Creating a New Band

Kapanlagi.com - Ifan Seventeen said that until now he has never intended to form a new band. Although now a soloist, he still performs in a band format with the help of some of his friends.

"Not at the moment. I never intended to introduce this new guitarist of my band, the new bassist of my band," said Ifan Seventeen during a virtual press conference on Friday (27/11).

"Alhamdulillah, I have siblings who are currently around me helping me. I really ask for their help to accompany me (in performing with a band)," he continued.

1. Becoming a Soloist Because of Circumstances

Ifan Seventeen never thought of becoming a soloist. It was the circumstances that made him pursue a solo career. As known, his fellow Seventeen Band members and beloved wife became victims of the Tsunami Tanjung Lesung disaster in 2018.

"I feel like I'm not a soloist, I was also raised in a band. But circumstances forced me to become a soloist. In terms of music, I always try to create something new. But I never thought of myself as a solo singer," he said.

2. More Comfortable Being in a Band

Although many vocalist friends choose to become soloists, Ifan is not interested. He feels more comfortable when he was with Seventeen band compared to now.

"I never chose to become a soloist. I mean, sorry, but there are some friends of mine who are band vocalists and they choose to become soloists. But there is no right or wrong in music, it's a choice," Ifan explained.

"I choose to always be a singer in a band, even though circumstances forced me to become a soloist, to be alone. If asked if it's comfortable, well, a band is incomparable," he concluded.
