“It's about the relationship between parents and children. Maybe at my age, it's also the rebellious phase, the phase where I want to do everything on my own. So whenever my mom gets involved, for example in my work or anything that I want to control, it feels like I can't do it on my own,” said Mikha Angelo during a recent virtual press conference.

1. Changing the Perspective of the Role of Parents and Children

After this song was made, Mikha Angelo started to change his perspective on the role of parents and children. He admitted that he learned a lot from this song and wanted to listen more to what his mother feels.

“It's funny when I see it now, this song really changes my perspective on the role of children and parents. That's why I'm really grateful that I managed to write this song because it taught me a lot. But maybe when I was writing it, I could see it from the middle ground, I wanted to give myself more time to see how my perspective and my mom's perspective are,” he explained.

Mikha Angelo's mother, Yvone Imelda Hubner, who was also present at the virtual press conference, couldn't help but shed tears when she heard the song Middle Ground.

"Mikha really didn't listen to it until it was about to be released, so it was a surprise. Touched by its content. Thank you Mikha for making the song," said Yvone Imelda Hubner.

Not only Mikha Angelo learned a lot from this song. As a mother, she also realizes that her children have grown up.

"Auntie is also in the process of learning that, you know, the kids have grown up. Sometimes there are misunderstandings, auntie hopes to talk more but sometimes it's not possible because everyone is busy. This song makes Mikha understand more too. This song reminds us that we still love each other," she concluded.
