Dewa 19 Collaborates with Several World-Class Musicians for a Concert at the Stadium

Kapanlagi.com - The music group Dewa 19 will hold a concert with several top world-class musicians, including Derek Sherinian (former keyboardist of Dream Theater), Dino Jelusick (vocalist of Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Jeff Scott Soto (vocalist of Sons of Apollo), Phil X (former guitarist of Bon Jovi), and Ron Bumblefoot Thal (guitarist of Sons of Apollo).

"So we want this concert to be different from other Dewa 19 concerts, not only featuring American musicians but also presenting songs that we consider legitimate to present to the audience," said Ahmad Dhani in a press conference at Plaza Senayan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (23/5/2023).

The leader of Dewa 19, Ahmad Dhani, ensures that the concert titled 'Dewa 19 featuring All Stars Stadium Tour 2023" will be different from previous concerts.

"There will be Dewa songs sung in English. We have already sent the song Arjuna in English. The chorus is in Indonesian. Then there's Immortal Love Song. And most importantly, we present masterpieces from Queen and Toto," said Ahmad Dhani.

1. Feeling Envious

Actually, the initial idea of collaborating with several international musicians came from Ahmad Dhani. The father of Al, El, and Dul was offered to produce the Dream Team Project consisting of Derek Sherinian, Dino Jelusick, Jeff Scott Soto, Phil X, and Ron Bumblefoot Thal.

However, Ahmad Dhani rejected the project because he thought the song played was not suitable. Then, Indra asked Derek Sherinian to produce the song again.

"Then Indra asked Derek to produce the song and it turned out to be good because of Derek Sherenian," said Dhani.

Ahmad Dhani then felt jealous of the project and asked Indra to connect him to make a commercial project with international musicians. After negotiations and schedule arrangements, this project was formed for a stadium tour in Indonesia.

2. Starting in Solo

"Actually, all of these ideas are Mas Dhani's, so from 30 years of working until Dewa wants this all-star. Mas Dhani is everything, so Sysan (Otello) and I are just executing. But the trial was at JIS, Mas Dhani's first time playing at that stadium with an audience that exceeded the target," said Aldo, from promoter Redline Kreasindo.

Meanwhile, Dewa 19 itself will bring Ari Lasso, Virzha, Ello, and Tyo Nugros in this tour series. The Dewa 19 featuring All Stars Stadium Tour 2023 concert will start at Manahan Stadium Solo on July 29, 2023.

Next, Dewa 19 will continue this tour to Gelora Bung Karno (SUGBK) Senayan on August 12, 2023. The tour is planned to continue to Surabaya and Bandung. However, Redline Kreasindo and Otello Asia as the promoter have not yet released the dates.
