'Expectation' of Aruma and Raim Laode Surpasses 30 Million Streams

This achievement has apparently moved Aruma. The singer, whose full name is Cindy Anindya Sakti, admitted that she was somewhat incredulous when she saw the streaming numbers of her song continue to rise, reaching tens of millions.

"Honestly, I had to refresh multiple times because I couldn't believe it. 30 million? That's a number I never even imagined when I first entered the recording studio. I remember when 'Muak' started to be heard by many people, I felt really overwhelmed, and now 'Ekspektasi' follows with such an incredible achievement. It feels mixed, between disbelief, being touched, and the most dominant feeling is gratitude. This isn't just about me; it's about everyone who takes the time to listen and feel this song together," said Aruma.

According to Aruma, the main strength of the song 'Ekspektasi' lies in its honest and unpretentious lyrics. The theme of excessive expectations in relationships is considered relatable for many people, which keeps the song being played across various digital music platforms.

Aruma believes that listeners feel represented through the stories conveyed in the song. Moreover, the presence of Raim Laode is said to bring a new color that makes the story in the song more complete from two different perspectives.

"Maybe because this song doesn't pretend. High expectations in relationships, that's an experience almost everyone has felt, but it's rarely expressed honestly. I think when listeners feel 'hey, this is totally me', that's when the song has a reason to keep being played. Plus, with Kak Raim's presence, whose voice has its own color, two perspectives in one song make the story more complete. I don't want to claim this is because of our greatness, it's more that... this song happened to come at the right time for many people," she continued.

Behind the success of the song, Aruma also holds interesting experiences during the creative process with Raim Laode. One of the most memorable moments for her was when Raim began to add a male perspective to the song.

Initially, the song 'Ekspektasi' was written solely from a female perspective. However, after Raim became involved in the development of the story, the song transformed into an emotional dialogue between a hopeful woman and a man trying to realistically face the relationship.

"The most memorable part was when we were creating, when I got the lyrics from Bang Raim. At first, the song was only from the girl's POV, then when Bang Raim gave the boy's POV, it became something new and different from the previous songs. It’s like how it feels for a woman to have expectations, then being met with a man who is also trying to be realistic," explained Aruma.

For Aruma, the song Ekspektasi is not just an ordinary musical work. The woman born in 2003 feels that the story within the song is very close to her life as a perfectionist who often places high hopes on many things.

"If the personal issues are very, very close to my life, because as a Virgo who is a perfectionist who wants everything to go smoothly and well, I definitely have high expectations for many things. So yes, I try to accept the shortcomings of the people closest to me, even if I'm in a relationship with someone," she concluded.
