Expression of Love for the Homeland, Indonesian Artists Bring Back the Indonesian Love Song Creation Competition

Kapanlagi.com - Indonesian Artists are once again presenting the Indonesian Love Song Creation Competition (LCLCI) 2, which is a song creator search event with a mission to bring back the love for the homeland through lyrics and melodies. This time, LCLCI carries the theme 'Express Your Love for Indonesia'.

Last year, with the number of submissions almost reaching the psychological mark (1000 songs), 5 selected songwriters were chosen. And they have become artistic partners who are nurtured and empowered by Indonesian Artists until today.

"Until today, we have released at least 3 winning songs from last year and next week there will be a new song that we dedicate specifically to commemorate the beloved 76th anniversary of Indonesian independence," said Harvey Malaihollo in a press release received by KapanLagi.com.

As additional information, Harvey Malaihollo was once again appointed as the chairman of the LCLCI 2 committee. He is also one of the founders of the Indonesian Artists community along with 8 other popular artists, such as Iis Sugianto, Andre Hehanussa, Lita Zen, Nindy Ellesse, Ronnie Sianturi, Chicha Koeswoyo, Sari Koeswoyo, and Tamara Geraldine.

1. Form of Consistency of Nusantara Artists' Support for the Government

LCLCI is back as a form of commitment from Nusantara Artists in promoting the socialization of the four pillars of the nation, namely: Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika through art as one of the elements of cultural formation. Although still facing the reality of restrictions here and there, Nusantara Artists still fulfill their promise to become government partners in organizing events supported by the Directorate General of Culture, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.

"The Indonesian Love Song Creation Competition is not just an ordinary competition. There is an educational mission that we try to instill through art. We provide free training through online systems, sharing what can be given according to each person's portion. This is an easy and fun way to learn!" said Lita Zen, the leader of Elfa's Singers.

"Not only the participants go through the learning process, but we are also trained. We learn from the journey of these two years. Sharing, growing, bearing fruit!", added Nindy Ellesse, former solo singer and also a member of the trio Glamendys.

2. LCLCI 2 Jury Line Up

There are changes in the list of judges of LCLCI 2 who are responsible for selecting until the final stage after the 5 finalists are chosen. The judges of LCLCI 2 must be individuals who are not only competent in their field but also able to judge honestly. This is the attitude of the Nusantara Artists in art.

Adib Hidayat and Barry Likumahua are 2 names of judges who are still present in LCLCI this year. In addition, there are 2 names of singers and hit makers Marcell Siahaan and Melly Goeslaw. And for this season, Nusantara Artists feel the need to include one of their members, Andre Hehanussa, as a representative to strengthen the jury squad. Andre himself is known as the creator of several songs with phenomenal achievements in his time. Some of his works are still widely known today.

"LCLCI is a school for amateur artists from Indonesia around the world to be accepted and promoted according to their respective competencies and uniqueness," said Andre.

Nyong Ambon, who cares deeply about copyright, added, "LCLCI ensures that copyright and commercial rights belong to the creator. The opportunity to be promoted in the digital media for Indonesian artists is very open. The right to use is regulated as best as possible with a win-win solution spirit, which we have proven through the cooperation of the previous LCLCI champions. With this kind of preparation, amateur artists who are included in LCLCI are expected to have a different mentality and character, not only in producing works but also in understanding how to stand up for their works when dealing with other parties in this industry.

"We become more confident in this goal after seeing and getting to know the creators of the works that entered LCLCI 2. We hope that Indonesia will have intelligent and dignified artists spread across all its islands," Harvey emphasized.

3. Selection Process to Determine the Champion

On the same occasion, Iis Sugianto, who was appointed as the artwork selection team, said that this event is a healthy and beneficial medium not only for oneself but also for others and the country.

"An extraordinary year! 587 submissions of artworks from teenagers to adults from all over Indonesia that invite people to love the country through songs. That means there are at least 500 citizens who participate in nurturing and preserving the country. That means there are at least 500 citizens who contribute to the freedom in a concrete and real way," he explained.

587 received artworks were directly filtered to 55 artworks to be further filtered to 20 artworks, before finally selecting the top 10 to enter the semi-final stage. After that, the 5 selected finalists will compete for positions 1, 2, and 3 as well as the best lyrics category and the favorite artwork chosen based on the number of likes on the Nusantara Artists' YouTube show.

"What the country needs right now is a generation that is not only intelligent but also has integrity. If we are not yet able to contribute or contribute something to civilization, at least we can show love for the nation by not damaging and provoking. Producing contemporary art that has a moving impact, that is the next level!" added Tamara Geraldine.

4. Offering Hundreds of Millions of Rupiah Prizes

LCLCI 2 also offers tempting prizes, namely cash of Rp. 100 million presented by the Director General of Education and Culture, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. Hilmar Farid is happy with the holding of this event and expresses his appreciation and support, as well as his collaboration with Nusantara Artists.

LCLCI 2 has been open since June 10, 2021 and will be closed on July 4, 2021. The peak appreciation night of LCLCI 2 will be held on August 15, 2021 at 19:00 WIB on the Nusantara Artists' YouTube channel. The choice of opening and closing dates is the consistency of LCLCI in taking the momentum of Indonesia's independence.

"Independence for now is a sense of freedom that must be felt personally by all Indonesian people. Bung Karno is our founding proclaimer who read the proclamation text of how we started in 1945," added Sari Koeswoyo.
