Ical, one of the band members and the creator of the name Marigold, explained, "So this name is to let our friends know that we are Marigold, that we are gold and if not yet, hopefully we will be in the future."

Just like Coldiac, the band Marigold debuted in 2015. Initially, the band consisted of Billa as the vocalist, Melodi on keyboard, Ivan on guitar, and Ical on bass. However, it was shocking news for fans when Billa, the vocalist, decided to leave.
