Di Selatan Jakarta tells about Farrel's life spending a lot of time in South Jakarta. Despite living outside South Jakarta, Farrel feels that South Jakarta has given him many beautiful memories about his life.

"As a disclaimer, I'm not from South Jakarta, I'm from Pamulang. I want to capture our feelings in South Jakarta. Even people who don't live there can feel South Jakarta," said Farrel Hilal.

"So those who are not from Jakarta can imagine. The goal is simple, to capture the life in South Jakarta. I want to illustrate my experience when I play in South Jakarta," continued Farrel Hilal.

Initially, Farrel provided many song options to be released with SMEI. Out of many choices, 'Di Selatan Jakarta' was agreed upon as Farrel's debut single with SMEI. According to Farrel, all the songs he creates relate to many people, including 'Di Selatan Jakarta'.

"I consider all my works important. I know this song will be very relevant and can capture life. I feel it is relevant and will become a story. It's very personal because my life revolves around it," he explained.

'Di Selatan Jakarta' was created in 2022. When it was finally chosen as the debut single, some minor changes were made to the song. Farrel expressed satisfaction with the final result of 'Di Selatan Jakarta'.

"Satisfied. The demo of the song is done, yesterday I just had to do some finishing touches. I did vocal takes, guitar takes, and then the mix and master were also updated. I'm satisfied with the elevated quality of the song," said Farrel.

Farrel also admitted that he did not expect such a positive response from music lovers. This serves as an additional boost for Farrel to continue creating.

"The response has been quite good. Many people have set reminders for this song. Overall, it's good," said Farrel Hilal.
