Fatin Shidqia Prepares New Album, Full of Self-Written Songs and Collaborations

Kapanlagi.com - Fatin Shidqia greets her fans again with happy news. The singer from the talent search event is preparing her latest album, which contains a series of new songs. Interestingly, most of the songs in this project are written by Fatin herself. She admits to enjoying the creative process that she has long missed.

"Actually, on one hand, I really miss it, Kak. I really miss the music-making process, like suddenly at 3 AM thinking of new lyrics. Lately, I've been recording and having workshops a lot, and it turns out I really miss this kind of atmosphere," Fatin expressed enthusiastically.

1. Original Creations

Fatin explained that although not all the songs in this album are entirely new, the majority are her own creations. She emphasized that she was fully involved in the writing process.

"I think everything is my creation, but there are a few that aren't 100 percent, maybe around 50 percent," she said.

One of the most anticipated songs from this album is her collaboration with musician Kamga. Fatin believes their collaboration this time feels more mature, especially since they have collaborated before.

"I've collaborated with Kak Kamga several times, and I really wanted to work on an upbeat and groovy song like this with him. Since we already know each other, the communication is much better," said Fatin.

This collaboration apparently started from an old project when they once sang a song by Sheila On 7 together. From that moment, Fatin began to envision a song concept that they could work on together.

"At that time, I immediately thought, it would be fun if we did a groove song like this with Kak Kamga. I really like the direction and the melody," she added.

5. Facing Challenges

In the process of making this album, Fatin also faced personal challenges. She admitted that she had to be brave enough to step out of her comfort zone in writing songs.

"My comfort zone is like, for example, not wanting to use the same word twice in one song. But when working with many people, I learned that small things like that can actually make the song come alive," explained Fatin.

From that experience, Fatin learned to be more open to various ways of writing and expressing herself. She is no longer fixated solely on personal experiences as a source of inspiration.

"I used to just want to sing songs that I experienced myself. But after watching one singer say that she doesn't even relate to the songs she wrote last year, I started to think, that’s interesting. A singer can sing about anything," she said.

Now, Fatin feels freer, more mature, and grateful to be able to enjoy her music journey again.

"I want to make the most of this blessing. While I’m still healthy and still want to keep making music," said Fatin enthusiastically.
