Finding Peace with Yourself with Widasroom in the Song 'Runner's Dilemma'

Kapanlagi.com - After more than 10 years of absence in the Indonesian music scene, Widi Asmoro returns as a soloist and expresses his restlessness under the moniker Widasroom. This time, he released his latest track titled Runner's Dilemma.

Runner's Dilemma itself tells the fatigue of Widi Asmoro towards the '9 to 5' routine and monotonous life, as if forcing him to be trapped between the choice to keep moving forward and running, or giving up. This single also still carries pop music as its musical identity with a classic new-age style.

"Mental health is something new to me. I never imagined that I had this problem until my physical body experienced mobility problems without any clear reason. Medical treatment has been done but it hasn't healed. Then I decided to open up to a psychologist counselor in Singapore. Alhamdulillah, these counseling sessions gradually improve my health condition," said Widi Asmoro.

"I finally realized that I have a mental problem and I learned to accept the situation." In the process of making peace with myself, I wrote the song Runner's Dilemma. The words in this song are personal mantras and are made to communicate with oneself. I also decided to release it and share this story so that other friends who may have similar issues can pay more attention to maintaining mental health, just like physical health," he continued.

1. Worked Inter-City, Cross-Country

When looking at the process of production, it turns out to be equally interesting. Starting from the encouragement of Yudhi Arfani, who is Widi's guitarist in his indie pop quintet, Everybody Loves Irene, he entrusted the music production to Fifan Christa (Atlesta) and his team in Malang.

For the vocal session, Widi worked with Ong Jean Wei and David 'DSML' Siow in Singapore. As for the mixing-mastering stage, Widi completely entrusted it to SCIFI Studio in Malaysia. This makes Runner's Dilemma track a project that was worked on in 3 countries.

2. Spirit and Love for Music

Since moving to Singapore, Widi Asmoro seems unwilling to give up on pouring his love for music. Through Widasroom, he expresses ideas and stories that are more mature than Everybody Loves Irene, namely the phase of life as a father and office worker who cannot let go of music.

Currently, Runner's Dilemma by Widasroom has been released through various music streaming channels such as Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify, and YouTube. It is interesting to anticipate Widi Asmoro's other stories in his other songs.
