'Juliette' Song by Ahmad Dhani Written in 2010 Finally Released

Actually, Juliette is not a new song, but it was written by Ahmad Dhani back in 2010 when Once Mekel was still the vocalist of Dewa 19. Unfortunately, a year later, Once decided to leave Dewa 19.

"Then in 2011, we tried to record the new single Juliette with Once on vocals, Yuke, Andra, and Agung. Suddenly, Once decided to leave, and since then Dewa has been on hiatus, not knowing what to do until 2013, when the presidential election continued until 2019," said Ahmad Dhani at Holywings Kemang Jakarta Selatan, on Wednesday (30/3/2022).

After the hiatus, Dewa 19 returned with a new color. Singer Virzha was recruited as the featuring vocalist of Dewa 19. Because they already had a new vocalist, Ahmad Dhani tried to record Juliette with Virzha. However, because Virzha still had a contract with his label at that time, they failed to record the song.

In 2022, singer Marcello Tahitoe alias Ello became the featured vocalist of Dewa 19. From here, the song Juliette was recorded and then released. Have you listened to it yet, KLovers?

"Finally, at that time we were active again with Virzha. Virzha had already recorded but the recording company had not yet dealt with us. So it was canceled not because of the numbers but because the Virzha recording company wanted to own the master, which was not possible. So, it was not a matter of numbers but only ownership of the master that we did not agree on, the company that oversees Virzha wanted one hundred percent," said Ahmad Dhani.

Then we collaborated with Ello who was not affiliated with any company. Previously, I offered it to Once, would he like it? He heard Virzha's voice, maybe Once was hesitant or something, he also forgot that he had taken it before," said Ahmad Dhani.

Ahmad Dhani admitted to being confused when asked about the story behind the song Juliette. What's certain is that the song Juliette tells the story of a man who likes someone else's lover. Oh my, anyone relate to that?

Finally, instead of taking too long, Ello was alone like a young widow, so he joined in, and that was it. Until now, after 12 years, not making up a new song, this song was finally born," added Ahmad Dhani.

Under the label of Republik Cinta Management, the single Juliette was officially released on April 1, 2022 on all music streaming services through an exclusive partnership with Believe Artist Service. Then on the same day, the Juliette music video was also released through the YouTube Video Legend channel.

"I'm confused why I made naughty lyrics even though I'm not naughty. In my opinion, Juliette is a girl who has Romeo's boyfriend, and I like women who have boyfriends as long as the yellow ribbon has not curved, it can still be taken," concluded Ahmad Dhani.
