Motivating Artists Amid the Pandemic, The Ayayay Holds the Concert 'What's Happening in the World'

Kapanlagi.com - The Ayayay band recently held a concert titled What's Up World. The concert was held on Friday (25/3) at a cafe located in Kemang and managed to attract the attention of music lovers.

The Ayayay for Journalist Concert 2022 'What's Up World' was held with the aim of introducing and playing songs arranged during the pandemic period to the general public, through journalists in the capital.

"The Ayayay is a band formed by two siblings, Edo Margorevan and Andika Patria, which started from a hobby of making music while in school," said Andika after the concert.

The Ayayay also collaborated with several bands that have been active in the independent music scene since the 1990s, which are included in the compilation album, such as the band Submission. Another goal is to prevent artists from sinking in the pandemic situation.

"The theme of 'What's Up World' is taken from one of The Ayayay's singles titled What's Up World. The single tells the story of musicians and other artists who are sinking due to the pandemic. This song is also a prayer and hope from The Ayayay so that the world can smile again," said Aries Wijaksena, a member of the legendary punk band, Submission.

2. About The Ayayay

Just for information, The Ayayay itself started when Edo invited Andika to join his band called Brown Sugar along with his friends. However, due to a hiatus, both of them were busy with their own newly formed bands.

Until 2019, Edo formed a band called Pantomin which later changed its name to The Ayayay. There are more than 25 songs created in the past 2 years. One of The Ayayay's new songs titled 'MILF' is included in the compilation album 'Young Offender' which contains a number of musicians from the Young Offender community, the first punk community in Indonesia.
