Starting from a Casual Conversation, Mayangsari and Melly Goeslaw Present the Compilation Album "Melly Goeslaw Masterpieces"

Kapanlagi.com - The music label Le Moesiek Revole, in collaboration with MST Production, owned by singer Mayangsari, has released a compilation album titled Melly Goeslaw Masterpieces. This album contains 10 hit songs by Melly Goeslaw sung by other singers.

Melly Goeslaw's collaboration with Mayangsari started from a casual conversation. However, from that conversation, the compilation album Melly Goeslaw Masterpieces was born.

"Mayang and I are friends who do a savings group together. Suddenly, Mayang came up with the idea of making this album with Sunny. I didn't really pay attention, I just said yes. Usually, when your friend talks, you just listen and don't take it seriously. But then they told me that they had already chosen some of the songs, and I started to believe it. Because, well, it turned out to be serious," said Melly Goeslaw at KFC Kemang, South Jakarta, on Monday (21/3/2022).

1. 10 Songs

There are 10 Melly's songs included in the album Melly Goeslaw Masterpieces. The songs are Menghitung Hari, Ku Tak Baik-Baik Saja, Cinta Sejati, Salah, Cinta, Jera, Denting, Catatanku, Gantung, and Bunda.

From those 10 songs, Mayangsari and Melly personally selected which songs to include in the compilation album of Melly Goeslaw Masterpieces.

2. Difficult Curation

"Curating is the hardest part because I have a lot of songs, Alhamdulillah, so choosing only 10 is very difficult and there must be some parts. But, we chose them together with Mayang for discussion and we found the songs first, someone chose the singer first, oh this one is suitable for this one, we can use this song for whom," said Melly.

3. Cross-Generational

Several cross-generational singers are included in the compilation album of Melly Goeslaw Masterpieces. Starting from Mayangsari (Menghitung Hari and Ku Tak Baik-Baik Saja), Reza Artamevia (Cinta Sejati), Rizky Febian (Salah), Tata Janeeta (Cinta), Anneth (Jera), Petra Sihombing (Denting), Rafathar (Catatanku), Khirani Trihatmodjo (Gantung), and Arsy Hermansyah (Bunda).

"I see this CD even though the pandemic can still run. There is one thing that I appreciate, I don't forget to thank the artists involved. There are Rafathar, Arsy wants to convey, Melly Goeslaw's songs can be enjoyed by all genres, all ages," said Mayangsari.

4. Laris

Physical release of Melly Goeslaw Masterpieces can be obtained at KFC fast food restaurant outlets. What's amazing is that the sales of Melly Goeslaw's compilation Masterpieces have reached a fantastic number, which is 70,000 copies.
