Wulan Guritno Sets Conditions for Jefri Nichol Before Intimate Scenes, Must be Fragrant and Bathed

For the comfort of the intimate scenes, apparently Wulan Guritno has a requirement for her co-star to be clean and fragrant.

"The most important thing is that we have to be comfortable, especially for intimate scenes. Me, Bimo, and Nichol talked a lot in detail, like when Nichol asked me how comfortable I was. Then I asked Bimo how comfortable he was," said Wulan Guritno during a virtual press conference some time ago.

"For me, I have to be fragrant and comfortable. So, before we do the intimate scenes, we all take a shower," she continued.

1. Taking a Morning Shower

On that occasion, Jefri Nichol also mentioned that the intimate scene was filmed in the morning. So he felt more comfortable and fresh after taking a shower.

"I actually don't mind how they (the scene) want it to be, as long as I feel comfortable. But I take a shower first. If I'm not mistaken, the one with Mbak Wulan in the morning after taking a shower felt really fresh," he said.

"This is really important, so don't think it's weird. There's a learning process and a class for intimate scenes for actors, and there's an SOP (standard operating procedure) for it. So we have to make our co-actor feel comfortable for the sake of the scene," added Wulan Guritno.

2. Intimate Scene, but Like Acrobats

Wulan Guritno also explained that performing intimate scenes is not an easy task. It involves many techniques. She even said that it's not about being romantic, but more like being acrobatic.

"So if someone asks if it's enjoyable to film a sex scene, not at all. Bimo and I were like acrobats because it's all about technique, there's no romance like what we show in the end," said Wulan Guritno.

"But with those techniques, we can make the audience believe. It's about delivering those techniques well, Bimo and I were like playing acrobats, choreography," she continued.

3. Eating Ice Cream Together

Before filming this movie, it turns out they also made an effort to build good chemistry. One way is by talking frequently and they have a habit on set of eating ice cream together.

"Maybe Bimo is younger than me but we're not far apart, communication is easier, the conversation is more relaxed. But with Nichol, he's the same age as my first child. So at the beginning, before we got into the story, the three of us approached each other first. Because we know these characters are so complex and intimate scenes are not just intimate in terms of sex but also in terms of being human," explained Wulan Guritno.

"So as much as possible, when we cut shooting, the three of us talk or just eat ice cream together. We also have a habit of eating ice cream together when we were in Jakarta Vs Everybody. That may be how we maintain our closeness with each other," she concluded.

4. Screening on Online Cinema

JAKARTA VS EVERYBODY tells the story of Dom (Jefri Nichol) who decides to move to Jakarta to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. In the midst of the harsh life in Jakarta, Dom meets Pingkan (Wulan Guritno) and Radit (Ganindra Bimo) who make him a drug courier.
