In the 1990s, the band Kidnap Katrina immediately rose to fame when they released their debut album titled Kidnap Katrina. At that time, this Jakarta-based band consisted of Anang Hermansyah (vocalist), Teguh (keyboard), Koko (guitar), Gorgha (Bass), Damon Koeswoyo (guitar), and Masto (drums).

"I have recorded, it's finished. Only one song left. But because of this (covid 19), the kids are afraid to go to the studio. So, it's the same problem. Indeed, at the end, we stopped for a while, waiting for the reality of how it is," said Anang to Kapanlagi.com, Thursday (19/3/2020).

In this album, Kidnap has prepared 10 new songs. The theme is still the same, they take on themes of love and social life.

"There are already 10 songs, all new songs. It's our exploration with our journey in life, we explore both social issues and relationship issues like love. Whatever we actualize there, in this album," he said.

2. Takes Quite a Long Time

What's interesting is, working on this album Kidnap took quite a long time, namely two years. For Anang, this second album was very difficult to work on. Moreover, Kidnap Katrina herself has not released an album for a long time. Therefore, Anang wants Kidnap to be able to present even better work in this second album.

"It's been almost two years. This album is not easy for us to make, because Kidnap, firstly, hasn't released any work for a long time, and we also don't want our work to be just a desire from friends on how our exploration has been going for so many years and how to provide good work," said Anang.

In addition, while working on this album, Kidnap also had to overcome various obstacles, one of which was the departure of their guitarist, Damon Koeswoyo. Anang said that this became a story in the journey of their new album.

"That's part of the events in the journey of this album. But it turns out to come back. Yes, this album has its challenges, challenges that are not easy. That this album is not easy," concluded Anang.
