In the 1990s, the band Kidnap Katrina immediately rose to fame when they released their debut album titled Kidnap Katrina. At that time, this Jakarta-based band consisted of Anang Hermansyah (vocalist), Teguh (keyboard), Koko (guitar), Gorgha (Bass), Damon Koeswoyo (guitar), and Masto (drums).
Unfortunately, after releasing the album Kidnap Katrina, the band started to decline. Moreover, the vocalist, Anang Hermansyah, chose to pursue a solo career. As a result, the band formed from the Potlot community went on hiatus for two decades.
In early 2018, Kidnap Katrina reappeared by releasing a single titled Kesepian (Loneliness). Yes, this became the starting point for Kidnap Katrina's revival in the Indonesian music industry. After releasing the single Kesepian, Kidnap once again released a new song titled Diam (Silent) in 2019.
