Kodaline Closes Their Journey at LaLaLa Fest 2026, Last Stage in Jakarta

Kodaline completed their final performance before parting ways at LaLaLa Fest 2026, JIEXPO Kemayoran, Jakarta, on August 22, 2026. The Irish band chose this moment as a farewell after more than a decade together.

The decision to part ways had previously been announced through their Instagram account, making the LaLaLa Fest 2026 stage the last opportunity for fans in Indonesia to see Kodaline perform in full. They performed on the Karma Stage and closed the festival series as the final act on that stage.

"They had a special request, they didn’t want to perform on the main stage but on the second stage and perform last. The duration was like their single concert," said the promoter at a press conference at the Teater Kecil Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta, Tuesday (8/11/2026).

As per the request to the promoter, Kodaline chose not to perform on the main stage. Instead, they took a position at the Karma Stage, becoming the final performers on that stage.

The set duration was extended to resemble a solo concert, allowing them to present more material for their final meeting with fans in Indonesia. This arrangement was part of a special request made to the organizers.

This decision provided space for more intense interaction, while the atmosphere in the Karma Stage area was filled with thousands of spectators who came specifically to witness Kodaline's farewell in Jakarta.

The night opened with 'Follow Your Fire', followed by 'Brand New Day' and 'Ready'. As they entered 'Brother', the atmosphere in the Karma Stage area became even more festive and the audience sang along in unison.

The set continued with 'High Hopes', which captivated thousands of spectators. After that, Kodaline performed 'The One', 'Without You', and 'Ragging', with the audience's chorus still audible.

As the end of the show approached, 'Love Will Set You Free' and 'Everything Works Out in the End' were also performed. The energy on stage and in the audience remained high until the closing minutes.

Everything came to a conclusion when 'All I Want' was chosen as the final song. As the intro played, thousands of spectators sang in unison, some were seen shedding tears as they witnessed Kodaline's last moment on the Indonesian stage.

3. Steve's Farewell and Birthday Surprise

After the closing song, Steve Garrigan expressed his gratitude to the festival and the fans present at Karma Stage.

"Thank you so much, LaLaLa Festival! Thank you! You guys are amazing! Enjoy the performance of Rex Orange County. We love you all. Cheers!"

Steve delivered this message as he said goodbye to the audience.

The farewell night also turned into a birthday celebration. Steve, who will celebrate his birthday on August 23, 2026, received a surprise from his bandmates and thousands of fans. His wife, Diana Bunici, came on stage carrying a birthday cake.

"Tomorrow is Steve's birthday, so we thought we would invite all of you to sing 'Happy Birthday'. His wife is also here, so we asked Diana, his wife, to bring the birthday cake for Steve. Would you like to sing 'Happy Birthday' for him?" said the drummer.

The drummer's invitation was met with enthusiasm from the audience, who then sang 'Happy Birthday' together, closing Kodaline's final performance in Jakarta with a warm moment.
