Ruben Onsu's 43rd Birthday, Prefers Children's Prayers Over Gifts

Ruben Onsu celebrates his 43rd birthday in a simple way. The presenter states that he does not expect gifts or lavish celebrations, but rather sees this moment of aging as a time for self-reflection. He expressed this when met ahead of the mediation session for child custody disputes at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

"Yes, as I age, I remember the bad things from the past year that I won't carry forward, and I hope that in this new age, things will be much better," said Ruben when met at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

Ruben stated that his main focus now is on self-improvement and planning his steps in this new age. He also emphasized that there is one thing he looks forward to the most, and it is not about physical gifts.

1. Ruben Onsu Prioritizes Prayer, Not Gifts

On his birthday, Ruben mentioned that gifts are not a priority. He admitted that he is content with the prayers and attention from his closest people, without the need for presents or large celebrations.

"Oh my, is it already about gifts? No need for that, it’s just another birthday, no gifts," he said.

According to Ruben, at his current age, what brings him peace is the good prayers from family. He no longer waits for physical gifts as a form of celebration.

"The kids have already wished me," said Ruben.

2. Turning 43 as a Moment for Reflection

For Ruben, getting older brings an opportunity for self-evaluation. He wants to leave behind the bad things from the previous year and step into a better phase.

"And there are many things that have been passed, so at 43 years old now I want to be a better person," he said.

3. Main Hope: Gathering with Children

Even though he is not waiting for gifts, Ruben has one wish for his birthday this time, which is to be able to spend time with his children in person again.

"The most important thing is prayer, I’m not waiting for that. What I’m waiting for is just to be with them (the children)," said Ruben.

He has already received birthday wishes from his three children, Thalia, Thania, and Betrand Peto. Ruben emphasizes that prayer and togetherness with his children are what he looks forward to the most at the age of 43.
