Kotak Releases New Album "Identitas", Tantri Kotak: It's Like Giving Birth Again

Kapanlagi.com - Marking 16 years of career in the Indonesian music industry, the band group Kotak has released their latest album titled "Identitas". Clearly, the release of the album "Identitas" has made the Kotak members feel happy.

"I'm really happy, Alhamdulillah, after a long journey, and it's great that the album is out. We just gave birth to a new single, and now we're giving birth to the album," said Kotak's vocalist, Tantri, in a virtual press conference on Friday (25/9/2020).

Actually, the album "Identitas" was worked on since 2018. Kotak needed two years to work on the album. According to Kotak's guitarist, Cella, there were several factors that caused the delayed release of the album "Identitas".

1. Worked on 2 Years Ago

"Alhamdulillah, we worked on this album two years ago. If I'm not mistaken, it was in November 2018, and it turned out that this album was supposed to be released immediately, but we didn't have a pandemic. Initially, the plan was to release this album when Tantri returned after giving birth, but there was a pandemic. But we didn't postpone it for long, so we released it now coinciding with the anniversary," said Cella.

"This was done in Jogja, we waited for the right time to go there. In Jakarta, we can finish performing and take vocals at night, but here we have to spend a week in Jogja. Compared to other albums, this one took quite a long time," added Tantri.

2. Released by a Famous Music Label

The album "Identitas" is released by a famous music label, Warner Music Indonesia. There are 10 new songs in the album "Identitas", such as Growing Up, Harga Mati, Bukan Lawan, Dejavu, Di Atas Cinta, Inspirasi Sahabat Vol. 2, Mantanku, Teman Palsu, Manusia Manusiawi (feat Cak Nun), and Hoax. All of these songs can already be heard on several digital music platforms.

"Finally, after more than a dozen years of working, experiencing various things, we can prove that we are ready to work according to our identity. Thanks to those who have downloaded it on digital platforms," concluded Kotak's bassist, Chua.
