Kapanlagi.com - Kura Kura Bali will hold a music festival entitled "Kura Kura Bali International CubMu Jazz Festival". The event will take place on June 8-9, 2023 at Entrance Park Kura Kura Bali, Jalan Kura Kura Bali Serangan, Denpasar.
This event is a collaboration with Java Festival Production, which has successfully held the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival for the past 18 years.
The Kura Kura Bali International CubMu Jazz Festival will feature international and local jazz musicians such as Maurice Brown, Brian Simpson, Andien, Otti Jamalus, Tony Monaco, Balawan, Mike Del Ferro & Rega Dauna, Astrid Sulaiman Straight & Stretch featuring Nancy Ponto, Arpi Alto, Indonesian Brazilian Project featuring Peter F. Gontha and Maliq and D'Essentials.
"The Kura Kura Bali International CubMu Jazz Festival carries the theme of Sustainable Ocean or Segara Kerthi in an effort to use music to honor the ocean as a source of human prosperity and civilization," said Tantowi Yahya, Chairman of Kura Kura Bali and President of the Upaya Indonesia Damai (UID Foundation).
Tantowi Yahya added that the utilization and economic activities in the marine sector are still often said to be unsustainable. The increasing demand for natural resources, the need for more advanced technology, overfishing, climate change, pollution, habitat loss and biodiversity, coupled with the need to strengthen law enforcement, are the causes of the declining quality of the ocean.

The Bali Turtle International CubMu Jazz Festival is expected to be a campaign tool to encourage the breeding of the sea, which leads to an increase in the health and productivity of the marine ecosystem and reverses the current declining trend.
“Music can inspire its listeners to push policymakers and the business world to take joint action to protect coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass, coastal community life and prevent pollution from land, especially plastic, which is one of the biggest threats to the sea,” added Tantowi.
Furthermore, Tantowi Yahya also added that it takes cross-border, cross-generational efforts to convince policymakers and the business world to take real and practical steps in investing in various forms to support economic activities that are integrated with land, coastal and marine protection as a source of prosperity and civilization.
“Let's listen to the voice of nature from the sea that has become a source of life for humans, and participate in the Kura Kura Bali International CubMu Jazz Festival,” he concluded.
