Maulana Ardiansyah and Alyssa Dezek Present ‘More Than Longing’, A Song for Long-Distance Relationship Fighters

The song More Than Longing raises the story of a couple who are forced to maintain a long-distance relationship due to circumstances. In this relationship, deep longing often triggers small to large conflicts. However, through its lyrics, the song conveys a message of mutual trust that love is greater than longing.

This collaboration marks Maulana's first project in 2025. He hopes that this song will be well received by listeners and become the beginning of other collaborative projects. The decision to partner with Alyssa Dezek as a duet partner was also based on a special reason.

1. Quite Exciting

“The previous single titled HALU received very positive feedback in Malaysia. Therefore, I wanted to invite Alyssa, a very talented young Malaysian singer. The song Lebih Dari Rindu also fits her vocal character,” explained Maulana.

The process of working on this song was quite exciting and full of creativity. Maulana revealed that he collaborated with his arranger, Idris Vanes, to determine the key, instruments, and melodic details. Several renowned musicians were also involved in the making of this song, including Hendri Lamiri on violin and Gita, the keyboardist of Angkasa Band, on the string section.

“The work on this single was quite exciting, as I poured out a lot of creative ideas with my arranger. We worked together on all parts of the song, such as the key and instruments,” said Maulana.

The biggest challenge in the production of this song was the selection of the key and drum sound. Maulana explained that he and Alyssa had different keys, so adjustments were needed to find a bridge that sounded comfortable to the ear. Their drum sound inspiration was taken from Post Malone's latest album, F-1 Trillion.

"Our choice of drum sound references the latest album by Post Malone. That's what makes the drum sound of the song Lebih Dari Rindu sound unique," added Maulana.

After releasing Lebih Dari Rindu, Maulana has planned other collaboration projects for 2025. He referred to this year as the "Year of Collaboration" and hinted at working with more artists in the future.

"My big plan for 2025 is to make this year the Year of Collaboration. With whom? We'll just have to wait and see. For now, enjoy Lebih Dari Rindu with Alyssa Dezek," said Maulana.
