Kotak Releases New Album "Identitas", Tantri Kotak: It's Like Giving Birth Again
Marking 16 years of career in the Indonesian music industry, the band group Kotak has released their latest album titled "Identitas".
Kapanlagi.com - The band group Kotak has just released their new album titled "Identitas". Interestingly, this album has been worked on since 2018. However, due to various factors, including a very busy schedule for performances, the album "Identitas" was only released in 2020.
There are 10 songs in the album "Identitas". From those 10 songs, there is one song title that caught attention, which is Manusia Manusiawi. In that song, Kotak collaborated with cultural figure and preacher Emha Ainun Nadjib, also known as Cak Nun.
"Actually, we have collaborated with musicians before, we wanted to collaborate with someone epic. When we heard this song, we immediately thought that there should be a different touch in it," said Cella in a virtual press conference, Friday (25/9/2020).

Initially, Kotak was pessimistic about collaborating with Cak Nun on the song Manusia Manusiawi. This was because Cak Nun had a busy schedule.
"So we tried to find the fastest way, we tried to reach out to someone close to Cak Nun, but his schedule was really packed. This was before the pandemic and we wanted to go there but it turned out we couldn't," said Tantri.
"At that time, we thought it would be difficult because he rarely appeared on TV. Finally, we were able to collaborate," Tantri continued.
Interestingly, even though the song Manusia Manusiawi was already finished, Kotak and Cak Nun have never met face to face. During the production process, Kotak only provided the song material to Cak Nun.
"We haven't met in person at all. The song was already done and we let him listen to it, and he agreed to contribute virtually," said Tantri.
For Tantri, Cak Nun's presence in the song Manusia Manusiawi strengthens the song itself. "Even though Cak Nun's statement is only 30 seconds, it actually strengthens the song manusia manusiawi," Tantri concluded.
This album "Identitas" is released by a renowned music label, Warner Musik Indonesia. There are 10 new songs in the album "Identitas", such as Growing Up, Harga Mati, Bukan Lawan, Dejavu, Di Atas Cinta, Inspirasi Sahabat Vol. 2, Mantanku, Teman Palsu, Manusia Manusiawi (feat Cak Nun), and Hoax. All of these songs can already be listened to on various digital music platforms.
