The development of the music industry in Indonesia is attracting attention with the emergence of new bands that are able to produce quality songs. Some bands even manage to attract international attention and are often mistaken for foreign bands. 

These local bands showcase extraordinary music quality, not only in melody and arrangement, but also in writing lyrics in English. This phenomenon often confuses many people when they find out that these bands are actually from Indonesia.

This band is currently attracting attention in the Indonesian music industry. With the indie rock genre they embrace, Reality Club has been pursuing a career for 7 years and has gained popularity in the Japanese music market after collaborating with the renowned label Inpartmaint Inch.

Known as the "Millennial Band," they consist of talented young members such as Fathia Izzati as the vocalist, Era Pratigo as the drummer, and Mayo as the bassist. They bring music that is relevant to the lives of today's youth.

However, their achievements are not limited to the domestic scene. Who would have thought that this band from Jakarta has performed abroad, such as in Malaysia and Singapore, to promote their new album titled Do You Really Know?

2. Stars and Rabbit

Stars and Rabbit is an Indonesian band that is often mistaken for a foreign band. They have successfully created the genre of Imaginary Pop, where listeners are transported into their own imagination while listening to their songs.

What makes this band even more interesting is the fact that their vocalist, Elda Suryani, writes the lyrics for their songs, with some lyrics taken from real-life stories. One of their famous singles, The House, tells the story of an uncomfortable home situation for someone and has won several international awards. 

Surprisingly, in 2015, a film production house in London directly requested this band from Yogyakarta to include the song The House as the soundtrack for their film titled WANDER.

3. Coldiac

Who here is a loyal listener of Coldiac? Many people don't know that this band actually comes from Indonesia, more precisely from the Malang area. Some songs from the band Coldiac often use English lyrics, so it's no wonder that many people are still unaware of the band's origin. 

Coldiac carries the genre of electronic pop and R&B music, and they have been active since 2015. Interestingly, this band actually changed its name from Piratez in 2008-2014.

Not only successful in having 500,000 listeners on the Spotify platform, Coldiac has also achieved extraordinary achievements as a band that received AMI Awards nominations in 2018 and 2020. 

One of their popular songs is Beautiful Day, which brings a positive melody. This song is inspired by the feeling of tiredness in lamenting bad luck and invites listeners to be grateful for the little things around us. Suitable to be listened to when we need motivation to be grateful in life.

4. Mocca

"On the night like this, There's so many things I want to tell you…" Familiar with these lyrics? Yup, a song titled On The Night Like This has gained listeners up to 17,900,000 on Spotify.

This band was formed by Ariana as the vocalist, Riko as the guitarist, Achmad as the bassist, and Indra as the drummer who initially turned out to be from the same campus and have been friends for a long time.

Not only famous in the homeland, their songs have also gained recognition internationally. From being used as a soundtrack for advertisements to choreography in Korea. The song I Remember became an advertisement for Asiana Airways and the song titled Happy was used as an advertisement for engine oil products.
