Posan Tobing Sends Open Summons to Ban Kotak Band Members from Performing Their Songs, Here's the List

Kapanlagi.com - Musician Posan Tobing, along with former Kotak vocalist Julia Angelia, has issued an open summons to Cella, Chua, and Tantri, members of the band Kotak. This is related to copyright issues regarding the songs created by Posan and Julia, and there are 11 points that are their demands.

"So we're sitting here to convey, we have issued an open summons to Cella, Chua, and Tantri, members of the band Kotak," said Jerys Napitupulu, their lawyer in the Tebet area, South Jakarta, on Friday (7/7/2023).

"Among them, explicitly forbidding Cella, Chua, Tantri, and all members of the Kotak band from performing songs created by Posan Tobing and Julia Angelia, in every stage wherever they are," added Jerys Napitupulu.

Posan on that occasion said that his former bandmates in Kotak had been considered to have exceeded the limits. That's why he finally decided to send an open summons letter.

"Until now, they are still performing songs created by me and Julia Angelia. We know from netizens who upload on social media," said Posan Tobing.

"This is outrageous because they never asked for permission to perform the songs that we created," Posan added.

This time, Posan emphasized that this open summons is for banning Kotak personnel from performing the works that he made while still being a part of the band, not about royalties.

2. Love Don't Go Until I'm Gone

"In essence, this open summons is a firm prohibition from me and Julia Angelia for Cella, Chua, and Tantri, who represent Kotak, to perform the songs that we created," concluded Posan Tobing.

Some of the songs created by Posan include Berbeda, Cinta Jangan Pergi, Kerabat Kotak, Ku Ingin Sendiri. Meanwhile, the songs created by Julia Angelia that are prohibited from being performed are Sendiri, Saat Ku Jauh, Terbang, Phobia, Satu Cinta, Tentang Hidup, Ijinkan Aku, Terluka.

As for the songs created together, they include Masih Cinta (created by Pay Burman, Dewiq, Posan, Cella, and Tantri), Kosong Teojoeh (created by Pay Burman, DewiQ, Posan, Cella), Tinggalkan Saja (created by Pay Burman, DewiQ, Posan, Cella), Pelan-Pelan Saja (created by Pay Burman, DewiQ, Tantri, Cella, and Chua), and Selalu Cinta (created by Pay Burman, DewiQ, Posan, Cella, and Tantri).
