Restless With Fake News, Kotak Releases New Single Titled HOAX

Kapanlagi.com - The spread of fake news or hoaxes is really disturbing many people, including the members of the band group Kotak. Seeing this restlessness, the band consisting of Cella, Tantri, and Chua has just released their latest single titled HOAX.

"The reason might come from our frustration in getting news, not just news, but maybe we or our own family can easily spread hoaxes through unchecked chats," said Tantri in a virtual press conference via the Zoom application, Friday (26/6/2020)

"If I'm not mistaken, two years ago there was a hoax issue that was being heavily attacked, causing chaos and bringing up various religious matters," Tantri continued.

1. Very Different

Certainly, the single HOAX is very different from Kotak's other songs. This is because the song HOAX is packaged with a contemporary rock nuance, which is the identity of Kotak.

"From the first time we jammed, we imagined that this song should be anthemic from the lyrics to the music, which distinguishes it from previous songs. I wanted to highlight a contemporary hybrid sound so that we still follow the era but don't lose the main theme, still rock but following the contemporary sound," said Cella.

2. New Album Series

Under the Warner Music Indonesia label, this single HOAX is also used as the earliest series for Kotak's new album titled IDENTITAS, which will be released in September 2020.

"Originally, we had prepared the album before Tantri took leave and thankfully it was completed after this pandemic. The plan changed, so it will be released in September, and every month there will be several singles that we will release to bridge to the album," Cella concluded.
