Restu van Houten Makes a Song Because of Idolizing Chika from Former JKT48

Kapanlagi.com - The son of musician Charly van Houten, Mohammad Restu Gibhran Van Houten released an EP titled 5 Diri. This album contains five songs, such as Wanita Pujaan, Lirih, Ayah Bunda, Dan Ku, Hati Untukmu Mati.

Interestingly, out of the five songs, there is one single written by Restu due to frequently listening to a song from JKT 48 titled Hissatsu Teleport. From that song, Dan Ku was created.

"At that time, I really liked JKT 48's song, so my younger sibling kept listening to that song, Hissatsu Teleport, and thought 'this is cool'. That's why I took quite a few references from there," said Restu when visiting the KLY office in Central Jakarta, Monday (20/5/2024).

1. Idolize Chika

Restu admits that out of many members, there is one person that he idolizes. She is Chikita Ravenska Mamesah or more commonly known as Chika, who is a former member of JKT 48. Restu was so fascinated that he gave the character model of the music video for the song 'Dan Ku' the name Chika.

"She's an ex-member, her name is Chika. That's why when watching the music video, her name is Chika," he said.

2. During the Month of Fasting

"Watching her live on YouTube, I became interested in Chika. I imagined her while creating the song, that's why it became 'Dan Ku'," he continued.

Restu then shared the process of creating the music video for the song 'Dan Ku'. He admitted that the music video was made during the month of fasting.

"It was during fasting, so if we see someone eating, it means they're not fasting, hahaha. It was fun, there we had to endure thirst, that's the enjoyment," Restu concluded.
