After succeeding with various talent search events, SCTV is making another big breakthrough in the Indonesian music industry. As it approaches its 36th anniversary, this television station officially announces its latest talent search program titled THE ICON INDONESIA.

This program is fully dedicated to finding a new pop singer icon who not only has a golden voice but also a strong character. The preparations are serious. Since the auditions opened in December 2025, this event has successfully captured more than 4,000 talents from all over Indonesia.

Banardi Rachmad, as the Deputy Director of Programming at SCTV, expressed that the enthusiasm of the public for this program is extraordinary. A strict selection process has been carried out to filter 24 of the best participants who are ready to compete on the main stage.

"The enthusiasm of the public for The Icon Indonesia is very high. It is not easy for us to select 24 of the best participants from so many talents that possess extraordinary quality and potential," he stated when met at SCTV Tower, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday (6/4/2026).

Banardi also revealed that the competition format will be made different from other similar events, with various challenges that will test the participants' mental strength, such as duet phases and collaborations with professional singers.

"We also have a design system that shows how they feel the tightness of competition. There is a duet phase. Then there is a duet with a professional singer, how their mentality is tested," he explained.

THE ICON INDONESIA will also become more prestigious with the presence of eight renowned musicians as judges, including Ahmad Dhani, Titi DJ, Isyana Sarasvati, and Afgan. In the host seats, SCTV has appointed the phenomenal presenter duo, Desta and Ananda Omesh, who are ready to liven up the atmosphere.

Not only stopping at the competition, SCTV has also prepared a clear roadmap for the champion. The winner will receive an exclusive contract with the music label Trinity Optima, ensuring their career will continue after the event is over.
