Serve More Fresh Music, Caffeine Releases 'Between Two Loves'

Kapanlagi.com - Band from Bandung, West Java, Caffeine, is once again enlivening the music industry of the homeland by releasing their latest single titled 'Between Two Loves'. This single is their second work with new vocalist, Chikin Muhammad.

As known, the latest formation of Caffeine now consists of Chikin (vocalist), Beni Anwar (guitar), and Suyudi Quyud (drums). 'Between Two Loves' is inspired by a true story about the dilemma of loving two people at once. The story behind this song depicts the feeling of tiredness from having to be in a relationship with two partners and finally deciding to choose one.

"It happened before, but it was a long time ago. The process went smoothly, but it didn't feel right either," said Beni, recounting his personal experience.

Chikin also added challenges in maintaining privacy when we have more than one partner. "The difficulty is in maintaining phone privacy. Especially during high school, their phones are often checked. We have to delete the chats first so they won't find out," he continued.

This new song is indeed slightly different from the previous Caffeine songs. The music sounds fresher. If in the past, Caffeine was synonymous with romantic pop, now it feels more millennial. "Caffeine's music rarely screams from the past. That's the difference. The difference lies in adjusting the emotion to Chikin's vocal character," said Beni.

Until now, Caffeine is known for their unique creative process, where each member has their own studio to develop musical ideas. "We rarely jam together in the studio. Maybe each person has more freedom in their imagination. What's important is that the flow of notation and chords remains the same," said Beni.

2. Fresher

This latest single is still rooted in the pop genre that is characteristic of Caffeine, but with a fresher rock touch. "The guitar is more driven, to keep it fresh," said Beni the guitarist. "The interesting part of this song is the modulation from the second chorus to the interlude, which immediately goes up one octave. Expressing disappointment but with a fierce climax at the ending," he added.

With a new lineup and fresher music style, Caffeine hopes to be accepted by all music listeners. "The hope is that with the new style, Caffeine can be accepted. Sometimes the song is good, but it may not necessarily be accepted. Hopefully this time it can boom," Chikin hopes.

Not only that, Caffeine also plans to release an album or mini album format, with the hope of maintaining their existence in the music industry. "I want Caffeine's existence to continue. Keep creating with a reasonable time interval, not too long or too short," said Yudi.

With the single "Di Antara Dua Cinta", Caffeine shows that they continue to evolve and adapt to the times, while still maintaining their respective characteristics.
