Slipknot Officially Announces Eloy Casagrande, Former Sepultura Drummer, as Their New Drummer!

Slipknot has officially announced a new drummer to fill the vacant position left by Jay Weinberg in 2023. Previously, there were speculations from fans about who would fill the drummer position. However, the mystery of who the new drummer would be has been answered. Slipknot officially announced that Eloy Casagrande, former drummer of the legendary Brazilian band, Sepultura, will be the new drummer replacing Jay Weinberg.

Looking at Casagrande's track record in the music industry shows that Slipknot is serious about maintaining high standards in their music. Eloy Casagrande made his debut with Slipknot at an event in California on April 25. Slipknot officially released a photo of Eloy Casagrande wearing the band's signature mask on May 1, 2024.

Eloy Casagrande is a former drummer of Sepultura who now joined the American metal band, Slipknot. Born in Brazil on January 29, 1991, Casagrande started playing drums at the age of seven when his mother bought him a toy drum. A year later, Casagrande got a real drum. From that moment, his drumming career began.

At the age of 13, Casagrande won the Batuka International Drummer Fest. He also won the Modern Drummer's Undiscovered Drummer Contest in 2005. His career continued to rise with a tour in the United States a year later.

2. Becoming a Drummer in the Legendary Band Sepultura

At the age of 20, Casagrande joined the legendary Brazilian band, Sepultura. He replaced Jean Dolabella who had previously decided to leave. Together with Sepultura, Eloy Casagrande made three albums before deciding to leave in February 2024. He was replaced by Greyson Nekrutman to play drums for the Brazilian metal band.

3. Deciding to Join Slipknot

On May 1, 2024, the official Instagram account @slipknot announced that Eloy Casagrande has officially joined the American band Slipknot, saying "Slipknot officially welcomes @eloycasagrande". Prior to this announcement, it turns out that Eloy Casagrande had already performed with Slipknot, Klovers. His debut as Slipknot's drummer took place on April 25, 2024, when Slipknot was performing at Pappy & Harriet's Place, California.
