AMI Awards is an appreciation for Indonesian musicians and their works, which can have a positive impact on the history and development of the music industry in the country.

The Director General of Culture, Kemendikbudristek, Hilmar Farid, stated that music works that emerge from the authentic works of Indonesian musicians have a significant role in strengthening the Indonesian music ecosystem for the current and future generations.

“Therefore, Kemendikbudristek's support for the peak event of the AMI Awards is a manifestation of the government's commitment to building the national music art industry and supporting Indonesian musicians to continue creating and working for the music ecosystem in the country,” said Hilmar in a meeting with the media in Jakarta, Thursday (26/10).

Director of Film, Music, and Media at the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology, Ahmad Mahendra, stated that music with its rich history and background of cultural artistic values is an important aspect that should receive serious attention from various parties, both government and non-government.

According to Mahendra, awarding national musicians for their phenomenal works is one form of appreciation for their contributions and roles in the development and progress of the music industry in Indonesia. "AMI Awards is expected to motivate national musicians to create even better works in the future," he said.

Mahendra expressed that the significant music created by talented musicians in the country not only influences artistic harmony but also contributes to the advancement of culture promoted by the government.

"The Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology appreciates the spirit and inspiration of Indonesian musicians who constantly produce quality works. The ideas and creative thoughts of these musicians contribute to the national art treasury that will be remembered in the history of Indonesian music," said Mahendra.

Mahendra mentioned that the AMI Awards event is a platform to encourage the public to cultivate their ideas in the field of music, which will be beneficial for the current and future music library.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the AMI Foundation, Candra Darusman, expressed that the AMI Awards given to music professionals have a special value, so it is necessary to always maintain quality and independence, not just popularity.

Candra stated that the development of Indonesian music during the last 26 years of the AMI Awards has been considered to grow rapidly and have a significant influence on Indonesian music enthusiasts. One example, according to Candra, is the transformation of music from physical releases to digital.

The peak night of the AMI Awards will announce 62 categories and three special awards divided into two sessions. The 26th AMI Awards peak night can also be watched through live streaming on the Official Anugerah Musik Indonesia/AMI Awards Youtube account and the IndonesianaTV platform owned by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Research and Technology at 12:00 PM WIB.
