The Rock Band from Banjarmasin, Muram Officially Introduces Richy Petroza as Their New Vocalist Through 'Parade Hujan'

This step marks an important moment for Muram after going through a long transition phase. The band wants to reaffirm its existence with a sharper, darker, and more emotional musical vibe.

"Parade Hujan is a mirror. About the noisy silence, about the celebration of wounds that are hard to heal," said Richy Petroza during the recording session.

Richy is not a stranger in the underground music scene of South Kalimantan. Before joining MURAM, he was active with PrimitiveMonkey Noose, Bagak!, and Karengkang.

1. Give a New Color

"Rain Parade" is a song that discusses the absurdity of hope amidst reality, the information on the timeline that makes us sick. The greed and gluttony of humanity seem like a common thing, as if we are just spectators in a poorly made movie that we cannot stop.

With a raspy vocal character and deep lyrics, Richy's presence brings a new color to the dynamics of the band Muram's music. He brings fresh energy that strengthens the character of a band that has always been known for its loud and stirring presence.

The single "Rain Parade" also marks the opening of a new era for this band that has been established since 2019. While still maintaining their distinctive identity, Muram appears more mature in terms of musicality.

"Rain Parade is like a prayer sent to the heavens, so that we are spared from the barrenness of human conscience, kept away from the greed of humanity that is currently rampant everywhere," he said.

This song is produced directly by the members of Muram and features their signature strong elements. The heavy riff blasts, rolling beats, and dark atmosphere are once again highlighted in this latest release.

"Like the cracked earth due to drought, waiting for the rain that never seems to come," he said.

This band, consisting of Feriza Manuwu (bass), Awlia (drums), and Erwin (guitar), never does things halfway when it comes to music. Each member has a strong background in the underground music scene of Banjarmasin.

Feriza Manuwu is the owner of Hollow Labs Studio and often supports various collective and non-collective activities to promote the music scene in South Kalimantan. Awlia is known as a senior drummer who has been involved in the music world for more than two decades. Meanwhile, Erwin previously played for the bands Scope and Kunci in Jakarta.

3. Has Released an Album Before

Erwin is an experienced guitarist who previously played for Scope and the band Kunci in Jakarta. Muram itself has a very solid and loyal fan base, known as "Kuda Liar".

This community is known for actively following the band's musical journey and supporting MURAM's movement on various stages. They are the big brothers of the Kalsel scene, famous for their sharp lyrics and heavy, dark musical arrangements.

Previously, the band has released a full album titled Raung Selatan and one EP entitled Rock Penyambar Nalar. Now, with the arrival of Richy Petroza, Muram is ready to open a new chapter in their journey. They are now preparing to embark on a new phase with a sharper formation and spirit.
