Wanting to Compete with K-Pop, Rieka Roslan Trains Kazumi Girlband

Kapanlagi.com - The K-Pop music industry, which is loved not only in Indonesia but also worldwide, has made singer Rieka Roslan restless. She wonders why Indonesia, which is rich in talent, cannot be like South Korea?

An opportunity came to one of the founders of the band group the Groove, when she was asked to produce a young girl band named Kazumi.

Not wasting the opportunity, Rieka Roslan then trained Kazumi, whose members are between 9-12 years old, in vocal techniques, dancing, and choreography.

"When I was offered to become Kazumi's producer, I said I didn't want to just play around. I want serious children who are willing to learn. Because they will represent Indonesia, and they agreed," she said in Jakarta, Tuesday (26/10/2021).

After sufficient training, Rieka Roslan gave Kazumi a song she created titled Senyum Indonesia to be sung by them.

According to him, the song is suitable as a children's song and can motivate listeners to love the charm of Indonesia more.

"I, Rieka Roslan through Kazumi, want the Indonesian people to be proud of their own country, Indonesia," he said.

Rieka Roslan also hopes that Kazumi, consisting of Oktavia, Kaylene, Wynne, Reva, Mesya, and Aiko, can become a national hope girl band that can compete with Korean girl bands and become world-renowned.

"Indonesia must have a girl band because Korean girl bands dominate Indonesia crazily. To be like Korea, singing and dancing at the same time, they must be taught from an early age. So, I train these children," he said.

2. Rieka Roslan's Hope

Rieka Roslan also hopes that the government supports his efforts in forming Kazumi so that they can become a girl band that brings honor to the nation.

"Korea can progress because they are given funding by the state, they are encouraged. So, I also hope for support from the Indonesian government," he said.
