Working Together with Jason Ranti, Dongker Says the Idol is Still 'Crazy' in Creating Works

"Maybe the biggest change is in his basic nature, meaning in public, he has become more chill. But when it comes to the creative process, it still seems crazy. If during the process he makes music or consumes something outside of his usual habits, like music and other readings, it's crazy," said Arno at the Kapanlagi Youniverse office.

One of the most memorable moments was during the recording session in Bandung. The Dongker members, who are used to stopping when they feel tired, were surprised by Jeje's stamina. Delpi recounted that there was a recording session that started at 4 PM and only ended at 4 AM the next day.

"During the recording, it was evident how crazy it was because, you know, we never force the time when recording, if we’re tired, we stop. But Mas Jeje, there was a time during the first or second recording day. We started at 4 PM and finished at 4 AM," said Delpi.

Jeje's energy apparently doesn't stop there. After struggling in the studio for 12 hours, when he arrived at Delpi's house to rest, Jeje was still eager to create a new song. This moment eventually gave birth to a song titled 'Selamat Tidur' in their album.

"At 4 AM he was sleeping at my house. When he got home, he still wanted to make a song, Mas. He only slept at 6 AM. And it became a work. So one song. The title is 'Selamat Tidur'. So in his mind, the music keeps going," explained Delpi.

For Arno, this experience became a valuable lesson about totality in work. He admitted that it was the first time he felt such a strong work ethic in creating music. In fact, he also revealed one of Jeje's unique "rituals" to keep his creativity flowing.

"Yes. That was the first time we felt like, I felt like, 'Wow, this is really hard work to make music,' like that. Yes, because, indeed, he, Bung Jeje also said, if you want to create, don't eat first. It actually hinders you. So he doesn't eat. I mean, hindering means hindering creativity," explained Arno.
