1. Words of the Prophet Muhammad SAW About Rewards

The first words of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are about rewards. Narrated by Abu Hurairah, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

"When Ramadan comes, all the gates of heaven are opened, all the gates of hell are closed, and the devils are chained up inside it," (Hadith Bukhari Muslim).

Then narrated by Umm Salamah, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

"Performing Umrah during the month of Ramadan is equal in reward to performing Hajj with me (Prophet Muhammad PBUH)."

Then narrated by Abu Hurairah, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

"Every action of the son of Adam will be multiplied, good actions will be multiplied in rewards up to 700 times. Allah SWT said: With the condition of fasting done for Me (Allah), I will give him rewards. Because they leave their desires for Me." There are two joys for those who fast, first when they break their fast, and the other when they meet their Lord, and the smell of the fasting person's mouth is better in the sight of Allah than the fragrance of musk oil," (Hadith Bukhari).

Narrated by Abu Ayub, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

"Whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan and then fasts six days in Shawwal, it is as if he has fasted forever," (Hadith Muslim).

In addition, narrated by Abu Hurairah, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

"Fasting is a shield, so when one of you is fasting, he should not indulge his mouth with harsh words or raise his voice when angry. If someone insults him, let him say: I am fasting," (Hadith Muslim).

2. Words of the Prophet Muhammad SAW About Forgiveness of Sins

Furthermore, another saying of the Prophet Muhammad SAW is about the forgiveness of sins. It is narrated from Abu Hurairah ra, the Prophet Muhammad SAW said:

"The five daily prayers and from one Friday prayer to the next, and from one Ramadan to the next, are forgiveness for the sins that have passed and protection from greater sins," (Narrated by Bukhari).

"Whoever fasts during Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping for reward from Allah, all his previous sins will be forgiven," (Narrated by Bukhari Muslim).

3. Words of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH Protected from the Fire of Hell

Not only that, there are also words of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH about Ramadan which contain how humans are protected from the fire of hell. Narrated from Abu Said Al-Khudri ra, the Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:

"Whoever fasts for one day for the sake of Allah, Allah will distance his face from the fire of hell for a distance of seventy years," (Narrated by Bukhari Muslim).

Narrated from Uthman Bin Abi Al-'Aas, the Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:

"Fasting is a protection for oneself from the fire of hell," (Narrated by Nasai).

Narrated from Abdullah ibn Amr ra, the Prophet Muhammad PBUH said:

"Fasting and the Quran will intercede on behalf of the servant of Allah on the Day of Judgment. Fasting will say: 'O my Lord! I prevented him from food and desires during the day, so accept my intercession for him.' And the Quran will say: 'O my Lord! I prevented him from sleeping at night, so accept my intercession for him.' Thus, both intercessions will be accepted," (Narrated by Ahmad).

4. Prophet Muhammad's Words About Generosity

And finally, there are Prophet Muhammad's words about generosity. Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"The Prophet is the most generous of all people, and he becomes even more generous during the month of Ramadan when Gabriel meets him. Gabriel meets him every night during Ramadan to listen to the recitation of the Quran with the Prophet. Therefore, the Messenger of Allah is more generous than the fast wind." (Narrated by Bukhari).

Narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) strives to worship more during the month of Ramadan compared to other times. And he dedicates himself to Allah more during the last ten nights of Ramadan compared to the beginning of the month." (Narrated by Muslim).

Narrated by Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed Itikaf (seclusion for worship) in the mosque for ten days during Ramadan, and in the year he passed away, he performed Itikaf for twenty days." (Narrated by Bukhari).
