Commemorating World Tiger's Day, Tourist Attractions in Batu Serve Meat Tumpeng for Sumatran Tigers to Theatrical Drama

Kapanlagi.com - International Tiger Day or World Tiger's Day is commemorated every July 29, KLovers. One of the tourist attractions in Batu City which is also a Conservation Institution in Indonesia held a Race Against Extinction to commemorate International Tiger Day. This tourist attraction is Jawa Timur Park 2 located in Batu.

The Race Against Extinction theme is presented by Secret Zoo East Java Park 2 Batu in order to contribute to the preservation of Indonesia's endemic tigers. A series of activities in it aims to be an educational tool for the community.

In other words, the community can get to know and protect one of the protected fauna that is currently threatened with extinction. Interesting, KLovers!

One of the series of events that attracted visitors' attention is a tumpengan for the tiger. Audi Firstania, as the Public Relations Assistant of Jawa Timur Park Group, revealed, "We celebrate with tumpengan, there is a tumpeng made of meat for the Sumatran tiger in the Sumatran Tiger exhibit. It can be witnessed by all visitors," on Saturday (29/7).

The meat is deliberately shaped like a tumpeng placed inside a box. The staff serves it to each tiger in the thick glass cage, KLovers.

"We give the tumpeng to the Sumatran tiger, the meat is inside the tumpeng in the box. Later, the tiger will unpack it by itself. Tigers have an instinct to search for meat, they already know from the smell of the meat. They will take it by themselves," he explained.

Audi reveals that Jatim Park 2 has Tiger Land or a special area for tigers, KLovers. The attraction showcases 7 tigers, three of which are Sumatran tigers. 

"For enrichment in the Sumatran tiger exhibit, specifically for the Sumatran tigers. Because they are endemic to Indonesia. We have 3 Sumatran tigers, the others are Bengal, Siberian, in total 7 tigers. All are in glass enclosures, outdoor but limited with glass. Visitors can observe and take photos from behind the glass," he said.

3. Special Theatrical Performance for International Tiger Day

In addition to providing tumpeng (a cone-shaped rice dish), a special theatrical performance for International Tiger Day is also part of the event. The Theatrical Drama Performance takes place at the entrance of Batu Secret Zoo, presenting educational stories to the public. The story revolves around the introduction of Sumatran tigers and serves as an appeal to protect and not hunt tigers, regardless of the reasons. 

The committee also challenges visitors to take photos with the tigers. They are asked to post them on social media and tag the Jatim Park 2 Instagram account.

"We direct our visitors to take photos with the three tiger species. They are asked to post them on Instagram, and they will receive a prize by showing their post," he explained. 

A series of World Tiger Day events were held joyfully. Visitors enjoyed the experiences provided by the organizers with great happiness.
