Like Bogor as a Support for Jakarta, Bontang Wants to be the Support for the National Capital (IKN) of Nusantara

Kapanlagi.com - The excitement of the Bontang City Carnival 2023 has indeed ended a while ago. The event, held in conjunction with the 24th Anniversary of Bontang City, East Kalimantan, became the highlight of the celebration.

Bontang Mayor Basri Rase said that the carnival momentum is positive for the development of the small city. The wider community will get to know the tourist attractions in Bontang.

"The National Capital is near us. Bontang should be like Bogor when Jakarta became the capital city. Now, after the establishment of the National Capital, we will become a support system by improving our tourism," said Basri, on Sunday (22/10/2023).

Must Improve

Therefore, he continued, this city must improve. There are many promising tourist attractions that are different from other cities in East Kalimantan. As a support system for the new capital city in the future, Bontang must be prepared for the presence of many people. As an alternative holiday destination, this city must improve.

“We will continue to strive to develop this city, because the presence of IKN is an opportunity that we must welcome,” he added.

Appreciation for the Performance of the Committee

For this year's Bontang City Carnival, Basri appreciates the performance of the organizing committee. The coordination for this event is quite good and able to bring about changes and differences from previous carnivals.

“If there are no changes, don't expect the audience to be enthusiastic. That's my message to the committee,” said Basri.

However, Basri admits that the coordination of his subordinates is already quite good. Although it is carried out by the Department of Education and Culture, other Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPDs) are able to synergize and complement each other.

“One thing that I am proud of is that the OPDs are already synergizing and collaborating. If one department organizes an event, other departments support each other. The head of the department must coordinate with his subordinates so that everyone can contribute to its success,” explained Basri.

As for next year's carnival, Basri also advises to make it more attractive. In addition, there must be new challenges to increase public interest.
