Mangkunegaran Run 2026 Takes Place in Solo with World-Certified Route

Kapanlagi.com - The Mangkunegaran Run 2026 will be held again in Surakarta, Central Java, on May 3, 2026. This event, which is part of the Adeging Mangkunegaran celebration, features a running route that has been certified by the world athletics body, affirming the international standards upheld in its organization.

This year, more than 7,700 runners will participate in three race categories: 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon. The organization of the Mangkunegaran Run 2026 also collaborates again with Permata Bank as a strategic partner to support the development of a sustainable running sports ecosystem.

K.G.P.A.A. Mangkoenagoro X stated that the running route for this year's Mangkunegaran Run has been certified by the World Athletics Body. The certification process was conducted by a representative from the World Athletics Body, Kim Vivan, who came directly to Solo.

"Certification of the running track is necessary to ensure quality, safety, and fairness standards in the competition. This certification ensures the track distance is accurate, the surface is safe to reduce injuries, and is internationally recognized, which is important for validating world records and official athlete times," said K.G.P.A.A. Mangkoenagoro X at the press conference for the Mangkunegaran Run 2026 in Jakarta, Sunday (12/4/2026).

K.G.P.A.A. Mangkunegoro X added that the Mangkunegaran Run has entered its fourth year and this event continues to present new approaches in introducing culture to the community.

Through the Mangkunegaran Run, said Kanjeng Gusti, Mangkunegaran wants to create activities that are not only ceremonial but can also be directly felt by the wider community. In addition, the Mangkunegaran Run is designed as a space for togetherness that combines sports, culture, and social interaction in one experience that is open to all circles.

Solo Mayor Respati Adi added that the Solo City Government appreciates the organization of the Mangkunegaran Run, which has seen an increase in participants every year. When it was first held in 2023, it was only attended by around 4,000 runners and has now surged to 7,750 runners.

"We see a very positive development, especially in terms of participation and community enthusiasm. Every year the number of participants increases, and more importantly, more communities are getting involved. This shows that the Mangkunegaran Run has become part of the community's lifestyle, not just an annual event," said Respati Adi.

Respati Adi explained that the Mangkunegaran Run is also different from other running events. The Mangkunegaran Run is not just about running, but about experiencing the rich cultural atmosphere of the city of Solo. Runners will pass through various points that have historical value, so they are not only exercising but also experiencing the identity of the city of Solo.

The President Director of Permata Bank, Meliza M. Ade added that the Mangkunegaran Run has also increased the turnover of business actors by 103 percent and the number of visitors to businesses has surged by 130 percent. Ade emphasized that the Mangkunegaran Run has already made a real impact besides providing a space for togetherness, also driving the local economic movement and introducing the city of Solo to more people.
