More than 4,500 Runners Celebrate BAF Lions Run 2024 'Run For The Youth'

Kapanlagi.com - One of the sports that is currently popular among many people is marathon running. YLI, together with BAF, successfully held the BAF Lions Run 2024 as an offline race and virtual run with the theme Run for The Youth. This event is aimed at helping individuals with special abilities to have equal opportunities in personal development and to foster self-confidence.

The offline race BAF Lions Run 2024 was successfully held at QBIG, BSD City, with more than 2,800 runners from the general public to various running communities. Starting at 05:00 WIB, participants filled the QBIG BSD City area to join in four (4) running category options: 3K Fun Run, 5K Race, 10K Race, and Half Marathon.

Meanwhile, for the virtual run, the event period has been ongoing since August 17 to September 15, 2024, involving nearly 2000 runners spread across several cities in Indonesia. The enthusiasm of the runners is so great that this year the BAF Lions Run set a record in terms of total number of participants.

1. Annual Charity Run

The BAF Lions Run 2024 is the sixth series of the annual charity run organized by YLI and BAF. On this occasion, in addition to being a sponsor, BAF also donated IDR 200,000,000 to support the Youth program conducted by YLI in collaboration with the Lions Club Indonesia.

“The Youth Program is a mentoring initiative for individuals with special abilities to interact and blend with the community, providing training, enhancing skills in using technology, and offering opportunities through part-time work activities,” explained Eddy Lie, the Chairperson of the BAF Lions Run 2024 Committee.

2. Hope for the Younger Generation

Willy Suwandi Dharma, the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Lions Indonesia Foundation, appreciates BAF as the title sponsor and other sponsors, both corporate and individual, as well as the participants who have taken part.

“Through the BAF Lions Run 2024 'Run for The Youth', it is hoped that YLI and BAF can help more young generations, especially individuals with special abilities, in providing benefits to improve their quality of life,” said Willy.

3. Support from Many Sponsors

In addition to the support from the title sponsor BAF, there is also support from various other sponsors, such as Sinarmas Land BSD City, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk., PT Zurich Asuransi Indonesia Tbk., Yuasa Battery, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk., JNE, PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk., Tulus Mineral Water, and Isoplus, who contributed to the success of this event.

In line with the overarching CSR program BAF Caring for Children, which focuses on improving the quality of life for Indonesian children, this year during the offline race, BAF invited over 100 children from orphanages/foundations to participate in the 3K Fun Run category and provided opportunities for orphanages/foundations
to set up a bazaar booth in the race village area.

4. Welcoming BAF's 27th Anniversary

This is one of the CSR activities in the series of celebrations carried out by BAF in welcoming its 27th anniversary on September 24.

“I am very pleased that BAF Lions Run 2024 went smoothly and successfully thanks to the cooperation and collaboration from various parties. This event is one of BAF's expressions of concern for the younger generation of Indonesia, especially for individuals with special abilities, in fostering independent and self-confident character.” said Lynn Ramli, President Director of BAF.

5. Provide Positive Impact

Lynn also added that the cooperation between BAF and YLI over the past five years has had a positive impact on more than 76,000 children across Indonesia through the BAF Lions Run event.

“I hope this activity can inspire many parties to always pay attention to those in need,” Lynn concluded.

6. Has Been Held Since 2019

BAF Lions Run is a series charity run event that has been held since 2019. By participating in BAF Lions Run 2024, participants will receive an attractive collectible medal from the BAF Lions Run event series each
year.
