Police Finally Arrest Teenage Kidnapping Suspect in Malang

Kapanlagi.com - Another criminal case has occurred. This time, YD (49), a man in Malang Regency has been arrested by police on suspicion of kidnapping a teenager. The man from Banyuwangi is currently being questioned at the Malang Police Headquarters.

"We have arrested a 49-year-old male who kidnapped a 19-year-old female teenager," explained AKP Lukman Hadi, the Sumberpucung Police Chief, Malang Police, on Wednesday (15/6).

1. Police Visit the Crime Scene

The Sumberpucung Police, Malang Police visited the crime scene and examined the victim and witnesses before arresting the suspected perpetrator. In addition, evidence such as a motorcycle, 3 rubber ropes, and brown tape were also seized. The items are suspected to have been used by the perpetrator to kidnap the victim.

"The perpetrator has been arrested, and will be further processed," said AKP Donny Kristian Baralangi, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Malang Police.

2. Woman Claims She Was Held Captive

Previously, a woman claimed that she was held captive in a wardrobe with her hands and feet tied in a rented house. The victim managed to escape and reported the incident to witnesses before reporting it to the police.

The kidnapping incident occurred on Thursday (9/6) from 09.00 to 20.00 WIB in a house on Untung Suropati Street, Sambigede Village, Sumberpucung District, Malang Regency.

3. Initially Invited to Collect Her Diploma

Victim IR (19) admitted to being invited to take the diploma of the victim at one of the high schools in Sumberpucung District. However, the perpetrator took him to his rented house on the pretext of taking a laptop and motorcycle.

The victim was held captive with his legs and hands tied and his mouth gagged. The victim managed to escape from the locked house through the back door. The victim then reported the incident to one of the witnesses who later reported it to the police.

The perpetrator is charged with Article 289 and Article 333 of the Criminal Code regarding violence or threats of violence, committing or allowing indecent acts, as well as intentionally depriving of freedom. The perpetrator faces a maximum prison sentence of 9 years.
