Kapanlagi.com - Liputan6.com once again presents the Liputan6.com Connect program as an interactive learning space that brings together students and practitioners from the digital media industry.

This event took place in the Auditorium on the 3rd Floor of Trisakti School of Multimedia, East Jakarta, on Thursday (2/4) with the theme The Power of Visual Storytelling in Digital Journalism.

Through this theme, participants are invited to understand how the power of visuals can be utilized to convey information effectively, attractively, and relevantly amidst the ever-evolving landscape of digital media.

1. Mobile Journalism

In the first session, Teddy Tri Setio Berty, a journalist from Liputan6.com, introduced the concept of mobile journalism (MoJo) as a content production approach that relies on simple devices like smartphones.

He explained that the changing landscape of journalism requires media to be able to produce and distribute information quickly, without having to rely on expensive equipment.

According to him, the quality of content is more determined by the ability to maximize the available tools, ranging from the use of smartphones, variations in shooting techniques, to the structuring of the storyline.

2. Visual Storytelling

Students were also invited to understand the workflow of MoJo, which includes the process of idea generation, shooting, live editing through mobile devices, and publishing on various digital platforms.

The second session was led by the Program Director of KapanLagi Youniverse, Roky Marcelino, who discussed the importance of visual storytelling in conveying information in the digital age.

This material highlights how visuals can capture the audience's attention amidst the flood of content, while also simplifying complex information to make it easier to understand.

3. Building Emotions

In addition, visuals also play a role in building emotions and audience engagement, making the message conveyed stronger and more impactful. In this session, students are introduced to various roles in multimedia content production, such as content producer, videographer, video editor, and social media strategist.

They are also invited to understand the skills needed, including storytelling ability, mastery of digital technology, communication, and understanding media ethics amid challenges such as AI development, misinformation, and changes in audience behavior.

4. Dialogue Space

The Chairman of Trisakti Multimedia (TMM), Budi Suyanto, S.Sn., M.Si., also expressed appreciation to the speakers and participants who have participated.

He hopes that this activity can be optimally utilized by students to enhance their knowledge and insights. Additionally, he encourages students to actively absorb knowledge from the experiences and insights shared by the speakers.

Not only is there a presentation session, but this event also opens an interactive dialogue space between participants and speakers. As a form of appreciation, all participants present receive an e-certificate for their participation.
